If you were going to install a large TM (Freedom XT) at home, how would you lift it off the pallet and get into your van?

Would an engine hoist work and have enough clearance to slide the unit inside the van? How have you "do it yourselfers" done it?

When I switched vans, I just had a friend help me lift it in, wasn't difficult with two of us.

This unit weighs over 800lbs so I was wondering if someone has had success using an engine hoist?

I don't know about the engine hoist. I had to hire a local wrecker service that also has a forklift to come out and lift it in for me on my first truck mount.

Yep I used a engine hoist with no problems. In the past I have also taken both vans to a customer with a fork lift and had them transfer it.

Engine hoist wotked fine. You just have to sling it tight.

My tech and I used 2 motorcycle ramps and a 30 pack of Coors Light to get mine in! It was not that hard but it was only around 500 lbs? I'm sure if you can get a few buddies, you guys could lift it in. Good Luck
