I read on a lot of orintal rug cleaning web sites that they should cleaned every 3-5 years........ is that true and if yes then why so long
It really depends on the type of use of the rug. If used every day kids, pets, hallway it should be cleaned every 6 mo to a year, if in a living room hardly used 1 year to 2 years. These rugs also hold alot of dust and dirt in the rug so it also needs to be vacuumed every week.
I train my clients that rugs need to be cleaned every 18 months under regular use, and more often if they have kids and pets crawling on the rugs - or if they have allergies. Lisa
I would never argue with Lisa BUT ... My answer tended to vary depending upon a) my payables and b) my business checking account balance! Steve www.StrategiesForSuccess.com PS Actually the very best answer on "frequency" is to get your customers on some sort of pre-paid maintenance program for all their household furnishings. Better for them- less planning/thinking/calling plus no big cash outlays required and MUCH better for you- regular cash flow and a "captive" audience. Go here for one way to do it with a free download: http://www.strategiesforsuccess.com/932/resources/special-reports/stay-beautiful You'll need to complete a simple one-time registration process for the download but I promise no spam ever.
Steve - how do you lay out exactly your rug cleaning maintenance program? In home dusting? Regular intervals of rug cleaning - or swap of surface cleaning and then in-plant bath cleaning? Just curious ... and I'm sure the group would like to see some tactical suggestions on this thread for their rug clients. See you next week! Lisa
Customers often ask me "how often should I get my rugs cleaned" And I tell them we recommend once per year as a guideline, but it really depends on their level of "dirt tolerance".
