Do you remember the 1st time you pushed a wand? How was it...and how long did it take for you to get the hang of it?

And how long have you been behind a wand pushing it?

Tired of it yet...ready to retire and give it to a younger person and let them do all of the work?.....problem is....they cant clean like we can! argh finding good help is hard!

Longer than I will admit to. With all the new technology, wand glides, RotoVac etc. the job has become alot easier. I pushed Bane Clene wands (called a bazooka wand for a reason) for over 10 years before I wise-ed up (guess I am a slow learner) even their uph. tool and stair wand was PITA to use. I am most likely the oldest CCer on this board that is still full time 5&6 days a week. My son is also full time and my 15 year old grandson who is 6'3" is part time, I also have a 4 yr. old great grandson on board and maybe he will join the family business also, there I go Rambo-ling again.

I drug a crappy Castex Power Eagle self contained unit, or something similar for 19 years. When I bought the company in 2004 I promised myself to make some changes and got my first TM last year. Powerclean Freedom XT. LOVE IT! So although I've been cleaning carpets for 20 years, I've only been pushing a wand for a little over one year. Supposed to be a summer job for me, too! Man, time flies!

    Eyeball,
I use the RDM alot. Mostly on stuff that's not real bad. For the nasties I still break out the wand. Tore my rotator cuff last year, so the RDM is easier for me to use. I'm thinking about demo-ing a RV360. Any thoughts?

Aaron that has to be hard on ya after you tore your rotator cuff. I have a a.c joint seperation in my shoulder from skateboarding - and it hurts so bad when I push the wand everyday....but i still get by.

You get used to it after a while, but at the end of the day.... I also do a little powerwashing and window cleaning, which seems to be worse because its alot of overhead work. Thinking of pulling out of powerwashing altogether, pulled it from the Yellowpages this year. Just kinda sucks because all of my equipment is fairley new:( Oh well.

Contemplating surgery this winter, but with no guarantees in the results, i'm a little leary.
