How good is Armorall? Is Armorall the protectant that most Car Detailers use? To me Armorall seems to leave a slick film on the surface. I remember a product called Clear Guard that IMO seemed to work better. Which protectant is your personal favorite?

If you used Armoral inside my car i would punch you out! I use Meguires myself, it is also paint safe which is very important. Paint safe refers to the fact that if that car was painted the next day the product would not cause any reaction or ill effects to the paint. Armoral is not paint safe, it is full of silicon and if you have you freshly Armoraled car painted it will cause "fish eye's" everywhere. Fish eye's are small dimples where the paint was repelled by an impurity on the surface. Of course cars are always wiped down before being painted but Armoral can cause them just by fumes. When I was 16 and working in a auto body shop I had just Armoraled my trucks interior, I drove it to work and primed a tail gate for a Chevy pickup, it fish eyed end to end, first thing my boss asked was if I had used Armoral, just the fumes from my arms and stuff did it.

BTW Armoral is by far the worst protectant for attracting dust.

Alot of customers do not like armorall on there dashboards because of the glare it causes. Use it on the door panels but only on the hard surface plastic. If the interior is black and you use it on soft plastic it will leave a white residue. For black leather and soft black plastic I use macguires non whitening vinyl and leathert conditioner.

I don't care if I get slammed for spraying it on the Gator Tuff poly prayed in bedliner in my Savanna. It makes it look nice and black. Yes it's a little slippery, but I don't give a #@$%!

I use non of that stuff on the interior of my cars or my customers cars unless they ask. If your having a hard time cleaning the inside of the glass it might be the protectant your using, when it evaporate I think leaves a film on the glass.

if you didn't know, by not using Vinyl Protectact to the door Panels and Dashboard, is more likely to be all fade away with the time / the Sun / you are not Protecting it.

that You use cheap & the wrong stuff is different. That you can Protect it, the right way / Yes you can!!!
    meguair's / 3m / 303 / they deliver strong protection.

So why use then Wax or Polish on paint? To Protect

I only use Ardex supplies, they are really popular in certain areas at detail shops. They cost a fifth of the price of 3m and half as much as meguiars.
I think they only sell to distributors so I'm not sure if you guys can get any of their stuff in your area. Have not found a product of theirs that I didn't like.

Torrey, I posted this when the forum was asking for detailing threads. I think it actually ended up being very informative. Sorry you don't agree.
