IMG_0327.jpg IMG_0325.jpg Lady said husband was using acid based drain cleaner to unstop shower and step out with flip flop foot and etched the polish of the marble tile floor in about three areas roughly this size.

Any ideas on how to buff this spot up out of tile??

Spinergy pads will fix it. If you want to get into working on stone on a reglar basis then you can get the 17 inch set that you can use with a 175 scrubber. You need a scrubber with a 1.5 horsepower motor and a weighted drive plate.

Probably the cheapest and easiest route for just fixing this problem for this customer is to use a hand grinder and get the 7 inch set of pads.

Here are some before and after pictures from black marble tile in a bathroom. Maid tried to clean the tile with acid bowl cleaner.

3 Different grits of Spinergy pads were used to polish this back to high shine.

Diamond pads and 5x powder. Those etches are fairly deep and need resurfacing.

You need the diamonds no doubt. I don't think you need to go that low. get your hand tool and test with 400 grit in the center of the spot. if that removes it you are good to go. if it does not go down to 220 grit in the center as well exactly where you used the 400. if that removes then erase all the damage with 220 don't go beyond the damage portion. then 400 again going a little wider let's say two inches. after; 800 grit with your 13" head 175 machine install the wights. after that 1800 grit going wider about 10 to 12 inches. the problem should be fixed and you will be ready to do do 11000 monkey pad all over the floor to even up the shine with your 17" or 20" head 175 machine. It looks by the picture that you have a big job too many scratches all over and you can easily sell the entire floor restoration arguing that the spot that you will fix will make the floor look bad since that little spot will be nice and shiny in compare to the rest of the floor.
NOTE: If 220 grit does not fix it, you will need to do the entire floor restoration regardless why? any other grit bellow that; will go to deep
and make that particular spot very uneven and you will be in trouble. Black marble will need to be finished with 3500 grit diamond before you use the 11000 pad else you will never get the shine that it needs it will always be dull.

Good luck make tons of money on this one.

Definitely use diamonds on this with 5X as Topshop suggested. Better results, no doubt.
