I have an EDIC external heater and it stopped working. I do not have any carpet cleaning equipment repair shops nearby. What type of contractor would be best to check with out this repair? Electrician? Me?

How about an appliance repairman? It's basically a water heater...

Sarrik, which EDIC model do you have?

I have the 200PSI dual 3stage, but the thing keeps blowing circuits like crazy unless I run it with one vac motor. Do you have this issue as well? Im not too happy with this machine.

I've got the Galaxy Pro 2700FX-HR (the 500psi model) http://www.edic-usa.com/index.php/products/box-extractors/galaxy-pro-2700/2700cx-hr-306.html. I love it! You've just got to be sure the pump and vacs are plugged into a 20amp circuit. Usually I go to the kitchen, bathroom, or laundry room. I've gotten in the habit of asking to see the circuit breaker before I get started so I can identify where the 20amp circuits are. In some occasions I find myself in an older apartment or something that only has 15 amp circuits and I'm screwed, so like you, I run just 1 vac and do lotsa extra dry passes and set up an air mover or two.

But I'm not sure what part needs to be replaced. Maybe they can help troubleshoot?

I would give them a call.. If its not too old they may replace it for you... Their site says>Warranty : 2 years on parts & labor, lifetime on rotationally-molded housing.

Most likely its a simple part like a switch or therma state. Your welcome to call me and i would be glade to walk you threw it if you have a multi tester.
