I was doing a nurses house one day and she saw the mist coming off the wand in a sunlight patch, and said i should wear a mask ill wind up with cancer some day.i did have a lung test and i was alittle under normal but doc said it was that i was slightly over weight for my frame( 5,11 185lbs) also any body get the heart palpitations? Me all the time. Cut back on my coffe ect. Seems with the exhaust from the machine, presray, dirt dander ect . What chance do we have? I heard that scotch guard brand causes cancer , most people i know are switching over to teflon water base. ... Is it any better?? Oh well thank god im married after this list who would want me looking foward to all comments, just dont offer to shoot me
Well, The heart palpitations could be caused by low potasium. thats what happened to me 8-9 years ago. They could also be caused by cox-2 inhibitors, "celebrex,Mobic, and the other one that merck took off the shelf, cant remember the name. Lungs are fine . I find eating fresh fruits and vegetable has reviatlized me. good luck
I have had upper chest pain thinking too it was my heart. After having heart test found out I had acid reflux. Felt like I was having heart attack. I for last month been having right elbow problems. I had it drained 3 times. Today after doctor drained it I went for xrays. Also knee and shoulder pain too. I have a few years on you. I don't think your weight is bad for your frame. I am the same as you and dr. said its good . Have you had a check up with blood work yet? I think you may be worrying and your fine. Drink a lot of water and banana's for that potasium. Take Care Frank
The pain in the chest may be caused by a misaligned or in my case a turned rib head. Happens once in a while. The back cracker can fix this. What you mean, I'm 49 and can work any twenty year old under the dirt. Scottie
I agree with the posts to eat bananas and drink lots of water. Almost everyone is partially dehydrated. Few realize how much water we need. If you feel thirsty, you probably need water 30 minutes ago. Learn to use tools that help move furniture. Learn to lift properly. USe the wand from both sides to keep from throwing your back out of alignment - more than normal. Consider the use of a glide to make wanding easier. As far as protectors - I am no fan of Scotchgard. They are the competition. BUT IT DOES NOT CAUSE CANCER!. No carpet protector has been shown to do any kind of harm when used properly. Although any of them can damage lungs if significant amount is inhaled. USe the proper spray tip, keep the spray close to the floor (or furniture you are applying it to) and use at the suggested pressure. This will produce large droplets that fall to the flor instead of getting into your breathing space. I could type pages about the tests on protectors, but don't have the time. If anyone has specific questions I would be glad to answer. Bottom line, no problems if they are used properly. Scott Warrington
After twenty five years in the business i have had alot of shoulder problems and lower back problems. Lung problems came from so many years of using stripper and it did take a hard toll on my lungs. After my retirement i have found no more back problems or shoulder problems but it took two years for the problems to go away. Had surgery on my lungs and it is better but not a 100%. At one time i only had 58% lung function.Never smoked.52 yrs old
I was havivg chest pain, I also thought it may be my heart.... Turned out to be my shoulder. I had torn my rotator cuff. I would look into that before any more heart check-ups. I had to keep pushing the DR to get off my chest. Had an MRI there was the tear
I guess I'm a freak of nature...38 - weight about perfect, runners heart rate, BP 120/80 - always, Dr said they couldn't get my cholesteral lower if they tried, above average lung capacity...etc In fact, my life insurance company lowered my rate a good amount from the original quote after the physical. I'll admit, I have tendon issues in my left arm that this business doesn't help...I separated my elbow area when swinging through the trees with a 20" chainsaw clearing my property around my house...that hurt. Never been the same since in that arm. I have really really really bad neck pain - but that's from hitting the pavement with my face (Helmet on) at 120mph from a bike accident many years ago. Other than that - no worries. My recipe is simple. Eat whole non processed foods, eat a good balance and enough to be happy and not stuff yourself, drink lots of fluids, and excersize any chance you get. Stretch, and move your body and joints regularly. Stay active. Don't drink in excess, don't smoke, stay away from sugar like the plague and don't eat something that will sit on a shelf for 3 months and not rot. READ THE LABELS! In fact, I prefer to manually prescrub and get a good sweat on. I love it...I get paid to work out! :burnout:
