Has anyone ever accomplished a Restoration of a Hoarder's House? I have seen the TV show called Hoarding. Some of these places definitely are Bio-Hazards.

Not through our current restoration company, but my family is in real estate and purchased a property where that was the case. Guy was an a diagnosed obsessive compulsive schizophrenic hoarder. Property was bought cheap enough that we basically tore the house down to bare frame on the inside, disinfected everything, then new sheet rock and new floors throughout. It was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home, about 1600 sq. ft. total, and took 3 40-yard dumpsters to clean everything out. And that was after donating all the cloths that were still in bags and boxes with tags still on them to the salvation army...

YEs, did that too. Never saw the TV show. But one family we cleaned for had shopping bags with clothing still in the package along with hand written receipts from over 40 years. They bought all this stuff on sale, filled the home and when rooms got full of stuff, they added on. Never open much of it. The lady just liked to shop sales.

How would you like to deal with a flood job in a house like that? I wonder if an insurance company would pay extra for having to deal with something like that.
