I wonder if there is a way to get on a list with the police department so that when a trauma happens they recommend you for the cleanup. is there such a thing?

Sure, basically the same setup as the tow truck companies when there's a wreck. Gotta contact them, get their requirements, fulfill the requirements, then get added to the list. They rotate the companies when something happens.

Some states rotate and some don't. They will put you on a list but they give the person
a list and it's up to the family or whom ever to pick and call. JME. I'm a retired officer and
thats what we were required to do.

YOU CAN CONTACT YOUR COUNTY CORONER OFFICE. THEY HAVE TO BE CALLED TO THE SCENE. THIS WAY YOU GO RIGHT TO THE MAN HIMSELF WHOSE IN CHARGE OF ALL DEATHS.

Try the local animal control office. Most of the trauma calls you will get are from an officer shooting the dog and it running back into the house.
