When I went to pick up my equipment I had the tap my gas line. Now when I try to fill the tank the handles pops the gas off. I'm guessing its some kind of restriction where they tapped it. Any of you ever had this problem?

I hate to waste another 40 bucks in gas and 3 hours driving back and forth to Raleigh.

Its a box truck right? What kind?

Sometimes the installer will leave too much "slack" in the fill tube hose which will create a valley that colllects gas and causes the pump nozzle to shut off.

There is usually a flapper in the fuel adapters and its possible that it could be partially stuck and not opening all the way.

Try to post some pics and perhaps me or Ara or someone can see the problem.

Sounds like the guy may have tapped the wrong line. Tapping into the filler neck is not recomended anymore. Your truck should have a breather line that runs from your tank to the filler hole. That is where he should have tapped it. If the filler neck is too narrow this will happen all the time. Best to relocate that tap.

I can't wait for this project to be over!

I'll check this post when I get there respond if you can tell whats wrong so I know what should be done correctly.
    Thanks!

Jason, Do you see that line to the right of your filler? That is the line they need to tap into! Because, like I said above your filler is too narrow. I know what I'm talking about. Also, tell them to put the gas filter near the truck unit so you dont have to crawl under to change it. I would make them pay for a new filler neck. And if you ask me that gas line they installed is way too big. You dont need that large diameter hose.

He left the stock restrict-or in and the tap had one as well. He took one off and all is solved. I ended up not getting anything comped and I spent an extra $400.00.

haha What an idiot I am!

Ara, thats how those kits come, to install into the filler. The only kits I ever saw that tapped into the vent line is the older Ford kits.

Agreed, it looks like they used 3/8" fuel line huh?
