The board keeps asking me for my first post so here it is. My vacuum relief is on the waste tank lid. My son called yesterday and said it was leaking air badly. He thought either the lid had corroded or the vacuum relief had. He looked more closely and saw that 2 of the 4 bolts had rusted and broken. It's a stainless tank so I thought it was poor that they had not used stainless bolts. When I got into it tonight, I found that not only had they not used stainless bolts, they had simply used self tapping sheet metal screws to mount the valve. Earlier I had had a lot of problems with a solenoid that controls the water flow to the mix box. It operates off of a very small hole in a rubber diaphram and the smallest particle will plug the hole and shut my water off. My complaint is that the manufacturer did not have any strainer in the line to prevent this. I had to install that myself after numerous problems. Now I'm off to spend 2 or 3 dollars on stainless bolts, washers and lock nuts. I've had truckmounts from 4 manufacturers and they all seem to do this. When you pay as much as you can buy some cars for, why do they choose to disregard our need for reliability for a few bucks. By the way, I like what I see in this board so far and am not the least interested in the drama on a certain other board. David VB
We appreciate your post David. I have found that many manufacturers are out of touch with the end user and similar problems result. What brand unit do you own David?
