(KTVI - myFOXstl.com) -- Some ads just sound too good to be true! Steam cleaned carpet for less than ten dollars a room?! Contact 2 was curious. We wanted to know exactly what you get for that price. So we partnered with the Better Business Bureau for an exclusive hidden camera investigation.

The amazing thing is in the Phily area thier are at least 10 of these companies. The good thing is that once a customer is screwed they become loyal to us. And occationally i will give a customer a discount just to prove myself.

50 complaints with the BBB and still in business, that is just plain crazy. Seems like after a certain number of complaints they should just be shut down.

I hate to say this, but what CUSTOMER in their right mind would even answer that type of ad, unfortunatly CHEAP people fuel this type of buisness practice or it would not be there in the first place.

Cheap Cheap should be left for the birdies.
But unfortunately a lot of ppl think a cheap clean is a GOOD clean.
If ppl didnt think like that why are there so many DIY machines at the supermarket for them to hire.
The mob that hires those machines out over here have the catch phrase "Any ding dong can do it"

They will never go out of business because 90% of the public doesn't want to pay any money to get their carpet cleaned. I just had a guy hang up on me when I told him the cleaning in his home would be in the $500 range. He had a coupon: 5 rooms and a hall for $89.

I am curious as to how they arrived on the 15% soil removal number. If I had more time I'd watch the vid again to see what kind of portable that was and call the manufacturer and ask them if they build units capable of adjustable soil removal. :)
