From one supplier I can get acid rinse that has a PH of 2.4 <Esteam> From my other supplier I can get the prochem fiber rinse which is 4.5-5.5 So, according to the PH scale, the Esteam brand is 100x more acidic than the prochem! The price of each is only within a few dollars of each other, but the acidity difference is HUGE. Should I be concerned about the high acidity of the Esteam brand? I used to put that stuff in the ninja until I realized it was destroying my pump. Do I need that much acidity? Is it better? Worse? Doesnt matter? is 4.5-5.5 fine as a neutralizer? Your thoughts!
Acidity is not the most important issue. The true comparison is total alkalinity. By way of example, think about some cola drinks. They have a pH around 2. That is similar to toilet bowl cleaner. You don't want toilet bowl cleaner coming near your skin, but you can drink the soft drink with no harm. Why the difference? The pH of some ingredients will drop very quickly when it is diluted with water. Other maitain the pH. Some products react with soil and lose pH quickly. Other aintain their pH even when reacting with greasy soils. So once the products are working it may be the any differences are rather minor. I don't need. I have not compared these products. I just wanted to point out that there is much more to consider than simply the pH reading.
So, what you are saying is the Esteam brand which is a PH of 2.4 will dilute more easily and both products could end up coming out the end of the wand at the same level of acidity. I guess the other concern is the harshness on the equipment.
