this is some crazy news that comes from jsonline.com

Gene Bauer was watching the History Channel late Sunday when two men walked into the community room of the Jefferson Court apartment complex where he lives. They said they were there to shampoo the carpet at the senior housing facility.

Gene Bauer, a resident of the Jefferson Court apartment complex, stands in the community room Monday after two men posing as cleaners made off with the complex's new TV on Sunday night.

Buy a link hereHe asked if he just could see the end of the program. They said OK. When it was over, Bauer, 71, left.
When he returned about a half hour later, the men were gone and so was the complex's new 52-inch Toshiba Regza TV, installed in January for residents at the 222-unit apartment building at 415 E. Knapp St.

The theft came a week after officials at the Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center released information on the April 4 theft of a 52-inch Samsung LCD TV from the dining room by a thief posing as a maintenance worker. That case remains under investigation. Milwaukee Police Department Public Information Officer Bobby Lindsey said Monday there is no evidence the cases are related except that Sunday's culprits might be copy-cat thieves.

About 250 residents 62 and older live at Jefferson Court, which is operated by Franciscan Ministries Inc., a subsidiary of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. They gather in the community room for socializing, movies and to exercise, all with use of their big-screen TV.

Deb Karaszewski, senior property manager, said the television was purchased with the agency's federal Housing and Urban Development funds. She was uncertain about a potential replacement.

Surveillance cameras picked up the two thieves, who took 26 minutes to dismount and walk away with the TV.

The heist stunned maintenance manager Fred Sigrist. He said it's impossible to enter the building after dusk unless a resident opens a door. He installed the TV and was sure it was secure.

"I told the officer, 'This is impossible. I installed that thing. I cabled it. I bolted it,' " he said. "They knew what they needed to do. They brought the right tools to get that TV."

Resident James Martin Rainier, 76, said: "It's an absurd thing for people to prey upon the elderly and to take anything from anyone else. If you can't buy it yourself, you shouldn't have it."

Well I was shocked whrn I have first heard about this news. I don't know what is the best way to identify the fake cleaners. I think we need to have an identification code at the time when we comtact the cleaning company for the cleaning purpose.

Recently I had an upscale customer tell me she had a "franchise" restoration company come to her home. They suggested she leave and stay in a hotel. She obliged and was told to come back in a week. Well she stopped by on Sat night and there was a party at her house with a lot of the company employees. She was shocked and asked them to all leave. She left and when she came back a lot of her valuables we're gone.

Large companies will never garner the trust that us small companies can. We can use this as we leverage ourselves into wealthy markets. So continue to build your trustworthy reputation.

That is a great idea for my Christmas party. I will put a time delay broken pipe in the nicest house I clean this week. I will leave my restoration card and when the pipe breaks come back, tell them to stay in a hotel and the insurance will cover it. I put on my Christmas party at their house and I get paid for it.

Wow the balls some people have.....

A friend was getting some body work done once saw his car at the local bar. He used his spare key and drove it away.
