    Hello

I am 6 months into my business and I am needing to get my employees under contract and I was wondering if anyone had a template for that. Thanks in advance!

Most say they are not worth the paper they are written on. Would be nice to hear from someone who feels differently.

Each state will have different laws on employer /employee relationship. Many states are "right-to-work" and/or "employment-at-will" states. BAsically that means, yo have the right to hire or discharge an employee for whatever reason you see fit. The employee also has the right to leave at any time for any reason he chooses. Thus a "contract" that says Mr. X will work for a certain number of years is not legally valid.

There are a few exception under federal law, particularly sports figures.

If what you want out of a contract is something other than tying the employee to your business, there can be contracts that state improper behavior and reasons for dismisal. However, most of these issues are better handled with an employee manual.

Some companies sell a generic employee manual that you customize. These are generally not specifically for our industry.

We happen to sell a training program on personnel management. This includes manuals, computer based training and other information on hiring, firing, keeping employees loyal, various government required paper work and so forth. An outline for a carpet cleaning company employee manual.
