Hey folks, I've had an issue with water going through my blower (which then goes through my muffler) and I'm wondering if this is something seriously bad? My TM has an automatic cut off switch in the waste tank however most of the time a little water gets through the blower before the waste tank gets full enough for the switch to cut off the engine. Is this normal or something that should seriously be avoided at all costs? Any pointers would be much appreciated! Thanks, Dan.
Is not normal but if is going in to the blower you need to fix the float switch o the pre spray you are using makes too much Foam spray some WD-40 on the blower after the end of the day to keep moisture from damaging the blower
I've had similar issues with the Boxxer 421. My waste tank switch has never really worked right. I'm pretty sure if I were to put a new one on I'd get the same results. My solution has been to simply not rely on the waste tank shut off in general. I use a sub-mount fresh water tank that allows me to see how much water I've used and if I need to go ahead and shut down to empty the waste water. Other than that the only other solution I can think of is to physically mount the tank shut off switch a few inches lower in the tank. Also, make sure the detergent or prespray you are using doesn't produce too much foam. Foam may not activate the switch and get sucked out through the blower. You might try a good defoamer and see if that helps. If this goes on unchecked it could damage your blower.
You need to get in there and adjust the float so it shuts off a little sooner. Either that or completely replace it. Try cleaning it out real well first with WD 40 too, maybe its just getting worn and dirty.
what we do with the prowler is, we let it run for 3 to 5 minutes, to dry a little byt the blower and then we spray wd 40, also there is a cheaper lubrican similar to wd 40 on wall mart, that one works good also.
I work on truckmounts about every day, its best to have a float to cut it off when it gets full, and if you dont have a floats it best that you have a dump tank filter in you recovery tank and also using a inline filter on you vac cut cut down on the trash that goes through the blower when it over fills, if it does happen make sure you spay wd-40 in the blower (and not pb blaster), if water continues to go through the blower more then likely your blower will lock up and will need to be unlocked with a pipe wrench or channel lock.
Lube blower at the end of everyday and get float fixed. Are you foaming up? You can eliminate this by installing a A.P.O (automatic pump out) and then you won't ever have to stop and dump and you will be more efficient. If foaming up use defoamer or change pre treat or cleaners your using. I Recommend a good high alkaline pre spray like enz all or powerburst then rinse with a acid like fiber rinse. Good luck
