Do you, as a trauma scene cleanup technician, obtain rewards over and above your salary? I read a magazine article that stated many workers in this industry feel good about their job because it is very necessary, not everyone can handle it, and it helps the surviving family members.

I think just about anyone can take satisfaction in their job if their attitude is right, trauma cleanup is no different. I do think a trauma tech needs some way to deal with the morbid aspect of the job aside from a paycheck, most see it as a necessity to help the families deal with the event, they feel they are providing closure instead of just cleaning up. Definitely an entirely different scope of work compared to carpet cleanup and mold remediation. Even fire cleanup doesn't come close to dealing with the trauma cleanup.

As a 10 year+ at my former company I can remember doing around 5-6 suicides and never got any more money than I did for doing carpets, but the pay sucked a$$ at that company, topped out at 9.50 hr, I didn't feel good about my job so I left and started my own CC company and stick to carpets & upholstery
