I have a customer with a white and tan cotton rug with urine odor. I was going to soak in Pros Choice Rug Restorer and rinse with Pros Choice Natural Fiber. I was told not to bother. Do anybody have another suggestion.

Run, refuse, deny, hide in the bathroom if you have to, but don't torture yourself with that pee-stained cotton rug.

If it was the owner of the rug that told you not to bother, maybe he will let you use the rug as a learning experience.

Cotton is very absorbent. Liquids are sucked into the fiber. This will be hard if not impossible to make a 100% correction, but it could be improved. Might make a good rug to practice on.

Definitely use a rug pit for immersion cleaning. Soak in a product that will work to dissolve the salts and lipids present. Use plenty of water to flush out the urine.
