I built a crude rug bath and I also HWE them with the truckmount. Either way the fringes get hand cleaned with Liqua-Acid.

When I was cleaning, submersion, HWE, VLM. I've posted this picture before, I wish I had a before. There was significant urine contamination, and was quite dirty as well.

    Wash pit, and HWE afterwards.

What is Liqua acid? If it has urine, depending on the backing we flood it with water use UPS and Kills Odor treat i,t water claw it, HWE with low temp, place on rack put on fans, use peroxide mix on fringe.

Or we will put in on the roller and start a drip line until it is saturate, treat carpet with solutions, let sit, then drip line it, run fans, treat fringe.

If just plain dirty and the backing wont allow for saturation. We HWE and the cimex with encapsulation. Dry with fan, vaccum, roll and serve.

Liqua Acid is an obscure natural fiber and upholstery cleaning chemical I've just become in the habit of using on rugs. It works great for cotton, wool, silk, etc, but is extremely foamy. Made by Certified. A quick google search will find it if you're interested.
