i have just acquired a used truck mount to replace my stolen portable and needless to say, being out of work for a month because of this, my budget has is about $17.34 left ,lol. anyhoo my very used tm has dried crusty carpet lint caked on the sides of the inlet and outlet tube/elbows of the blower. can blowers eat this stuff without doing any damage? this is my first tm,so i dont know. it isnt built all the way up around the circumference of the pipes, its just collecting in the corners of the elbows. i scraped it all out of the pipes, but i cant see the rotors.im sure some has collected on,in and around them too. what to do?
Soak it with WD-40 and then wire brush it.Rinse it off and then soak with WD-40 again and then start it up and it will blow any loose crap out. WD-40 is a blowers best friend and you should use some at the end of every day.
awesome, these things are tougher than i thought. also, i noticed there is no blower screen and i think id like one.can it be made,or are they manufactured? if you can find a picture, that might be worth a thousand words, lol. thanks so much!
There should be a blower filter inside your waste tank where the hose going from the blower to the tank hooks up. Here is a link to buy a filter if you need one (it has a picture too). Be sure to get the proper thread size and male or female threads depending on the fitting in the waste tank. Most filters are 2inch, 2.5 inch, or 3 inch threads. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-1-2-MPT-S...532?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19bd63cffc
Most tanks will have 2 filters, one where the water comes in from your vacuum hose (it will be a basket filter, some tanks have one and some don't) and another where the hose to the blower connects to the tank. Make sure there is a filter like the one in the link above.
