Ive got a 2003 Chevy Astro and for the last 3 years the fuel pump has always had an annoying hum. Plus the engine runs a rough at idle but smooths out fine once I get going. Not much to go on I know but what do you think?

    Thanks

you have a break somewhere in the vacuum lines. Thoroughly check your emission hose routing.

The humming is your electric fuel pump working. Just hope you always hear it or you will be buying a new fuel pump. 375.00 just for the pump. I know from experience.

Ara, thank you much for the help. Ill look into it.

Sef, the pump is just so loud. Maybe because the van is empty the sound is amplified?
