Picked up a chenille area rug today. What can you tell me about cleaning this fabric? :AddEmoticons04259:

Chenille is a style, not a fiber. Depending on what it's made of will tell you how to clean it. If it's Pottery Barn chenille, it may even shrink on you. If you aren't sure, take it to a dry cleaner, or tell the owner to. Pottery Barn sells most of the rug cr*p on the market today.

Thanks for the reminder, Lisa. I've not encountered one before, but I did learn that in one of Craig Jasper's classes. I check it out and let you know.

Brings back memories of driving down highway 41 in northwest Georgia back in the late '50's and '60s. Could not go 1/10 mile without passing another family selling chenille rugs or bed spreads from the front yard and porch. 20 or 30 rugs hung over porch railing, fences and tree limbs.

Any other old-timers remember seeing that?
