I've had problems with a stainless pulsation chemical injector pump. It is one of Jon Dons I think. Has anyone else had problems with these? I haven't yet decided if the problem is with the pump, or not. I changed the prime/flow valve, The diaphram, and plastic disc several times. Checked the check valves, replaced the one that comes in at the pump with a hole in the middle? for the pulse. Also the solution and primeing vacuum lines, haven't changed the metering valve yet, or the flow rate site tube attached to the metering needle valve. Doesn't draw right and I usually end up with water flowing back into the bucket that it should be drawing from.

The chemical draw hose is pretty big. at least 1/2" ID. should I go down to 3/8 or all the way to 1/4? I am going to look for a y strainer check valve. I am not aware that there is one there, but Monday I'm going to look.

The y strainer is just a water filter that needs cleaning out ever so often
On my machine the hose pipe sequence is as followed
Water tank -5/8 hose-1/2 pump in pump-3/8 hose- heat exchange
Howether this is not the correct sequence and im going to have to plum it up properly, its supposed to be ½ pump in pump-5/8 hose to filter+quick coupling on the front of the machine then (why this is there seams silly to me unless it has some thing to do with a freeze guard bypass quick coupling that you can rig up to a hose garden hose)
-3/8 hose to the heat exchange-heat exchange-venturi- y filter to the mixer tank
I think they use 5/8 hoses even when the other parts do not fit it coz its cheep box standard garden hose
My venturi is 3/8 in and out and 1/8 for the suction of chemical which goes to the chemical flow meter at the front of the machine which is broken at the moment and then to the chemical jug
I ordered a new flow meter from e bay see the pix I took of it below

    http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/ll319/Batista230/?action=view&current=FlowmeterfromNCA-1.jpg
    It’s a ¼ bore and rated at 0.3 -3 liters per minute
But when it arrived it had no adjustable knob on it; so I phoned the guy up and asked him how you adjust it he said you don’t it’s a flow meter not a flow adjuster
He said he would have a look in his store to see if he has an adjuster and phone me back
He never did I kept ringing and ringing him and he just keep saying ‘ow sorry forgot been that busy doing this that and other but Ill look into it and phone you back
This never happened and I just fell that the guys a complete cowboy and I have been ripped off; and whats more I bought it with pay pal out of e bay and I can’t leave any feed back and im sure he knows this dam well
Ow well looks like I’m going to have to resell it on e bay again
But if I get the machine running tomorrow I might quietly take the tail fitting out of the flow meter with a rag and spanner then put a couple of 1/4 -1/8 reducing bushes in with two 1/8 tail fittings plug it into the hose from the venturi and she how she sucks chemical
I imagine it won’t show up much on the flow meter as the original one was rated at1-10
Gph which equates to some thing like 0.06-0.6 liters/min
But it would be nice to see how it works

In reality I need ever the right flow ratio meter that is 1/8 bore and not ¼ with some kind of adjustable 1/8 tap that fits onto the venturi
Or just a flow meter that has an adjustable knob on it like the original one
Anyone know wear I can buy one from with out paying silly money for it i.e. 70 bucks

    Thanks

    Batista

Chad has a chemical pump Batista. Not Venturi. THe Y strainer on a PC chemical pump has a check valve Batista. But after thinking I dont think that would cause your problem Chad.
Sometimes the check valves in the pump can get hung up also. Remove the check valves from your chemical pump and tap them with a screwdriver or something to see if it is getting stuck open. If they get stuck its time for new check valves for the pump. The seals can wear also.
