If there is any ice from freezing in there, the second you turn the pump on can crack the manifold.

Did you put the correct # of spacer washers back on each side?

I have only had a head crack once on me and it was from freezing, I don't know what to say if it was not cold outside. How hot is the water that is running through the pump? Make sure it stays at 165 or less.

Don.t put too much torque on the bolts. Check the specs first. I think they are in inch/lbs.

when you install a new head on a cat pump you need to watch how you tighten the bolts....

do not over tighten is important..but how you tighten them is just as equally important...

if it is a 2 bolt pattern then you want to move back and forth between the 2...you don't want to tighten one and then tighten the other...if there is the slightest warp in the head it will not seat properly and will crack...

if it is a 6 or 8 bolt pattern...then you want to start from the inside and work out...centers up and down then out side up and down....
same as above..tighten the pattern slowly..do not crank each one....

this will help take away any type of pressure so everything "forms" together....anything metal to metal is not true....everything has a bit of some type of warp of difference some where ......

Also if you check with good pressure washer suppliers...you should be able to find high temp seals for your pump...they can handle 190 degrees..even if you do not push that temp threw it...they hold up better and longer then the lower temp ones...
