When running machine at normal operation, water pressure drops about 100-150 psi's when it goes into cool down mode, then it goes back to standard pressure. I'm running 200 degrees at 500 psi.
That sounds normal. When the machine is cooling down water is getting dumped through the solenoid on your waste tank. It will continue dumping until the machine reaches the temperature you have the machine set at or until it gets below 170 and the solenoid will shut off and the pressure goes back to normal. If you take the temperature control knob and turn it back up you should see the pressure return to normal instantly. The machine uses this solenoid to help maintain and control the water temperature as well as to cool itself down quickly when you are shutting the machine down. This is the valve I'm talking about. http://www.demaeng.com/product.php?id=87&catid=33 I very, very highly recommend you buy an extra one directly from the dema company. It's a lot cheaper. Also, they have repair kits available for that valve which will go out sooner or later. the repair kits are easy to install in about 15 minutes. When the valve fails it will dump water continuously and can fill your recovery tank pretty fast. I have replaced several over the last nearly 10 years now with my Boxxer 421. Just to be clear. The temperature control is what activates this solenoid. Say you set your temp at 200 like you said. The temperature will actually fluctuate a little above 200 and the solenoid will get activated to cool it back down to 200 and then shut off. When you are cooling the machine down before you shut it off it also dumps to help that happen much quicker.
