I was looking into a Air Duct Cleaning set up to use with my truck mounts. I know nothing about duct cleaning equipment. Is there a better one for the truck mounts or should you invest in one with a roof that open up and the bags pop out?? What about a camera system?? Any help would be great.

You can purchase air duct cleaning equipment for anywhere from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands.

The large vacuum trucks with negative air and filter bags can cost $60,000 to $100,00 by the time you get all the accessories. They are without a doubt the most through method of duct cleaning. Useful on commercial and residential. Not many carpet cleaners want to make that big a commitment.

There are several companies with revolving brush duct cleaners. They do pretty well on residential duct work. I used to use on one fire jobs. Cost was around $5,000. The main problems were tight corners when the spinning line would get in a bind or when the brush would catch on the end of a screw and rip either the brush or twist the duct out of shape.

The newer Ram Air costs under $1,000. About $1600 when you get an air compressor and some other accessories. It cleans about equally well as the rotary brush machines. But it has a big advantage - The clinet can see the dirt being removed! This is a great marketing feature. The Ram Air also comes with a great marketing package including a 30 second TV commerical you can also use as a video to show customers in their home or at home shows and such. Lots of other printed marketing material also.

Since an average job will be around $400, it takes only 4 or 5 jobs to pay for the equipment and begin seeing profit.
