Hey Guys! Some people say battery sprayer is better because you have a better control of the chemicals, and the inline sprayer is not accurate.( is this true?) Which sprayer is better The battery or in line and why? Thanks
The battery sprayer are nice because you can have a helper prespray ahead of you while you are cleaning. This is especially helpful in big commercial buildings. If I am by myself however I prefer the inline sprayer. It isn't a pain to drag around like a battery sprayer. It doesn't get in your way while your working, and it takes up less room in the van, it is lighter than a battery sprayer, its easy to use. So between the two I would say inline sprayer because of the reasons listed. The battery sprayer does have it's place but if I could only have one I would take the inline sprayer. As far as control of the chemicals, I don't know. I do know that I get carpets clean with whatever the inline sprayer puts down. I have a non adjustable type that is suppose to be 8 to 1 dilution.
The in-line sprayers will not dilute your chemicals as accurately as you can mix them yourself. That is certainly true. Is that a big deal? Usually not. The dilution that a manufacturer suggest for a chemical - 8:1 or 16:1 or 32:1 or whatever - is a guideline for average conditions. If your water is harder or softer than "average" you might adjust that dilution rate. If the carpet is more heavily soiled or less soiled than "average" you may adjust the dilution. The point is that it is not necessary to use most presprays at exactly the dilution stated on the label. The in-line sprayers will get close enough to the correct dilution to do a good job. Especially if you use them at conditions similar to the way they were calibrated. For example, the HydroForce sprayer is calibrated for 400 PSI and 150 degree solution temperature at the sprayer. If you are concerned about getting the dilution exactly right, you can spray a measured amount of product in to a bucket. Then measure the voluem in the bucket to see how it is being diluted. For example, If you put 1 qt. in your sprayer jug, spray until it si empty and there is 10 qts. in the bucket, your are getting a 9:1 dilution. It added 9 qts to the one you had in the jug. The two advantages of on-line sprayers are 1) They put down a lot of solution fast. Some call them "soakers." That means you can move fast and save time. 2) They put down a heated solution for improved cleaning results. Personally, I like in-line sprayers for prespray. I like the battery operated sprayers for protectors and almost everything else. Accuracy is more important with protectors than with presprays. No advantage to hot protector. The OmniPro is easy to use with the long hose on the sprayer and the wheeels to roll it around. Scott Warrington
I like in-lines for prespraying carpet. Battery for upholstery, protectors. I also use a battery for urine issues. I'll mix up up some product(some type of deodorizer/enzyme), spray the areas first, set up the truck, and then prespray again, clean extract, and post pad. This is only if the customer has a severe case and doesn't want to replace, and doesn't want to pay for any water claw treatments.
Never used a battery or electric. I like my Hydroforce enough not to replace it. I HATE the Revolution. It lasts a year tops, and is never accurate. A good Hydroforce inline sprayer and a metering tip set goes a long way.
In line is what I use for pre spray I was waiting for a part to come in for mine and had to use my Multi Sprayer for a couple of days it seemed like I was mixing a new batch of pre spray every time I turned around. Multi for protector only. Bobby Hales
I use an inline sprayer with the 7qt. jug. for pre-spaying and a multi sprayer for protector. How accurate it is I don't know. Like Scott said not that much of a big deal. I also don't use label dilution rates. Lightly soiled carpet I cut it as much as half. Haven't had a problem yet. Joe
sprayers I've got an almost brand new battery powered multi-sprayer that is available for sale. If you're interested, you can e-mail me at dennisbrian@adelphia.net
