I am just wondering if anyone else gets so many emails a day to the point You cannot answer the 85 tech bullitins per group?? and the three to four grouped Bulletin catergories. Today alone I had 254 technical questions. took four hours to read and respond with "vacuum leak" or "did you change the coil pack", I am seriously thinking its time to quit. mind you I get these every day of the week from west coast to east coast. and I dont get paid for it either.
Hi, been looking at this board for about a year now. The other day I decided to join tmf. Just to give a little background about myself. Yes i to am a iatn member. for around a year or two now. I am a master certified automotive tech since 1980. I also hold an L1 certification. My wife and I run our own private fleet repair shop. I also ran a janitorial/carpet cleaning business from 1982 to 1995. Got out of that business to concentrate on the automotive shop. About two+ years ago my wife and I decided to get back into the commercial carpet cleaning business to take up some of slow times in the shop. To answer your question about iatn. I think is kind of like this forum. No we don't get paid to answer the email's or to help one another. We do it to help others in need. I don't answer all the email's either. What I do is limit the amount of the ones i get and then if i have time i try and see if i can help someone. We are all busy with life these days it seems. But i think helping each other when we can goes along way in this life. Hope I'm not boring you with this. Just thought this was a good time to introduce myself and say hello to everyone here on TMF. Everyone have a great day!! Leon.
Hello and welcome to TMF.. I fully understand the need for info. with the forum. but man I swear it gets crazy at times. maybe I am being a baby lol. but its kinda like simple things tho. basic or general maintenance issues. I havent renewed master ase in years. I started wrenching since 15. Became certified back in the early 90's then kept it going. Ended up lead mechanic in a local garage did the whole fleet mechanic bit with diesel and big rigs. Then the shop owner went to meth, and I said "enough is enough". He folded about 3 months after that with nobody other than him and his weird buddies running the place. Funny but sad thing is.. I saw the guy a few years back. still doing meth living in a motohome the size of a box truck. And I swear to God. He was wearing a dress.haha no teeth, no hair and filthy as a bum.
