How many of you use air movers after cleaning carpet? I don"t own one but have been thinking about getting one.
    Thanks!

I use an Airpath fan most of the time. It really impresses the customers.

I use one that I move from room to room, the cutomers really do like seeing you do this extra step and it really speeds the drying time.

I have several and set one up after cleaning each area. Really helps to speed dry the carpet and impresses the customers. I can have rooms close to dry before I leave the job.

For most jobs, I used two and leap frogged them to the next room or area as I finished cleaning.

I use the IICRC manuals recommendation of air movers after I calculate the volume of air needed to get the carpet dry, along with RH and dew point. Isnt that how everyone does it?

No I really just put one down on any tile/hardwood to carpet area for good measure.

I am pretty sure that manual states that you have multiply the RH by a factor of 1/12th and the dew point to the 10th power anytime there is a full moon.

Your avatar is cracking me up by the way. It goes well with the comments!

I want a couple of those really badly, I can see a huge advantage to the 360 thing. I carry the normal fans and use them as needed, but i think if I had a couple of those I would make it standard practice on every floor.

As a sidenote the man (Lloyd Weaver) who invented the first airmover back in the 70's died this week. He was quite the inventor and really started the water damage restoration indiustry as we know it.

I use 1 Airpath and 1 Sahara pro hp.

The question I hear second most often from clients is . . . How long will it take to dry? So I always bring in dryers, because that is what they are asking for . . . dry carpet. The airpath can dry the carpet in multiple directons but the sahara is more powerful at long distances.

For thick carpets I use the airpath with LARGE sliders and I can push it along with my foot and no wheel marks dryed into the carpet.

We use one or two on every job. Moving them around as needed, as we clean. Normally leave them running until were packed up. Then we take them out. Really helps with the dry times.

They are great for the obvious reason's. A couple other reasons are keeps me cooler. An example would be when we are doing alot of upholstery in humid weather (I'm a big sweater). Also we have alot of mosqitoes in certain months and even though I will use a door jam to help block off door from T.M hoses I like to set it up blowing towards door opening. This helps keeps the little basta@@s out.
