I've been using Quantum green-ds from vacaway for the couple of weeks. I'm really liking it so far. It will probably become my mainstay for occupied residential carpet. I'll stick with extreme clean for the commercial work.

Absolutely none!!!
Green and soap free chemicals are the biggest scam since "Global Whinning" and ethanol became hip. I have new customers complaining that the last carpet cleaners used "soap free chemicals" and their dogs eyes were red and watering for 2 days! I've seen many trends come and go in the carpet cleaning industry and this one is the worst.... don't waste yer hard earned $$$ on this crap because it's a TREND. We CLEAN carpet, we don't GREENCLEANEVIRONMENTALLYTRANSCEND them, this has become laughable.... just my 2 cents ..... Bill

Bill we started our trend towards being a more Green & Environmentally friendly company for our own personal reasons. There is more to this than just changing detergents though. The secondary benefit has been the trend of people wanting this type of service. We have seen the benefits ourselves & our clients have also seen the benefits but I understand there is no magic bullet for every situation & we do inform all clients even hypoallergenic products can cause reactions. We just recently had a client with a grand daughter that had severe allergies. Long story short we was able to make it so that the Grand Daughter no longer has reactions to the carpeting with Green Hypoallergenic products this client didn't consider Green Environmentally products a waste & she did tell us this also.
Again they are not for everyone but to say they are a waste of money isn't correct IMHO that is.

Busy Bee there is no way green cleaning is a fad. Like it or not it is going to grow exponentially spurred on by government regs and large corporations who want to be politically correct and avoid litigation.
I've been searching for a way to set myself apart from all the other 40 year old, balding, chubby carpet cleaners with a truckmount. A truly green cleaner, that cleans well, with an RO rinse propperly marketed looks to be the opportunity of a lifetime.
I'm not a real strong enviromentalist but I am a Capitalist.

I use Prochems' Axiom and rinse with the Axiom clean free rinse, works great. Also I'm new to the business and would like to know what TDS and R/O stand for.

TDS = Total Di solved Solids
R/O = Reverse Osmosis
Be sure you try multiple products before settling on one to use would be one suggestion I would make. There are now lots of new products on the market but also make sure you research each product you choose there is a difference between different terms used such as Green (which is becoming very diluted with lots of claims) & Hypoallergenic. I am not an expert I am still learning every day how to make my company more environmentally friendly.
Good Luck in your new venture.

A fad is when someone follows along & worse profits off it, if you restored stone you would probably be out there telling people granite causes cancer and they should have quartz instead which is the same exact thing I'm talking about concerning green chems. It sounds like you're the status quo, you must only clean residential homes that aren't very dirty with some desperate housewife complaining about how little Bobby dropped his juice. I just bought some ENVIREX from Pro's Choice, it's vegetable based, I'm gonna try it on a moderatley dirty carpet tomorrow 7/30. There is no way this stuff is gonna hold up to a solvent based cleaner, if it does I'll be eating my words.

This guy IS all over it!!! Lets face it, using the R/O rinse ,you are leaving nothing behind. What is greener than that, where your customers health and environment is concerned. Not to mention how well it cleans!
