    Locked up blower

I wanted to toss in some information that I found to be very helpful. Recently after returning from a short vacation I pulled out one of the vans to use on a job. it was sitting for 8-9 days. I tried to start the truckmount and it would not start. After some diagnosing it appeared as though something was locking it up.

I made a phone call to Jon Don and talked to a tech up there. His first questions was " did you remove the waste tank lid while it was sitting?" He explained to me they were getting a rash of units coming in with the same issue I had. he further explained that in order to get the humidity out of the tank the lid should be removed or, it will go down the hose to the blower and seize it up.

The fix: I removed the blower hose, sprayed a can of breakfree type of product in it. Allowed it to sit for about an hour, them used a prybar to move the pulley on the blower. It finally moved and I was able to get back up and running.

I was unaware of this issue and thought it might help others out. I will now take the lid off daily so as not to cause any issues.

    Re: Locked up blower

Ya on the acs machines I used to use the blower motor would lock up on some of the units that were not being used all the time. I would just break it free and continue to roll. That being said on my prochem peak there is an area where you are to spray in wd-40 after each job. I have never had a problem with this machine locking up.

    Re: Locked up blower

In all my years I have never needed to remove the lid on my tank. Like Randall said, If you spray wd40 after each job there is no need to remove the lid.

Yes is better to keep it with wd40 after every job or end of day than having to go after this locking out. A friend used a biggg pipe wrench with some king of acid i think, he took the blower out of the machine.

    Re: Locked up blower

I've had mine lock a couple times from sitting. I just used a big chain type pipe wrench around the coupler to break it free.

Lubing daily with wd40 is a good practice.

yep WD-40 and a bit of tapping with a hammer while some one starts it kind of like a stuck starter on a car
