    Prochem Peak Manifold cracked.

Well I just found out the heat manifold from the engine is cracked. This could explain why its not sounding the same and also why I'm not getting as much heat lately. Changing the manifold doesnt look that hard, unless you have to get
the cage off the engine to do it.

Can it be changed without having to take apart the frame around the engine? Its pretty tight in there, as per usual with all Prochems.

Richard remember to get a spray can of P.B. Blaster from any autoparts store. and Have fun. you can use ratchet tie downs to help move the engine away from some areas and shift it outta your way. they are a pain to use but in a pinch you can even use them to swap out slide ins. dont ask..

I ordered a new manifold for $174 plus gaskets and such. I wont have to change it right away because I got the local machine shop to weld the top half of the crack <cant reach the bottom with welder> and then I bought some high heat 2000 degree liquid metal to fill the bottom. Seems to be holding for now and heat efficiency and noise level seems better. I'll hold out until it breaks again, then we will replace the manifold, I just hope I can get it out without too much trouble.

You'll have to remove the sheave on the motor to get to the bolts to remove the gaurd.. It sucks it really would be easy if you didn't have to do that. You should have them order one of those braided gasket for where the exhaust goes into the box.

I was told by to different people at Prochem the to solve the heat problem I should put the other thermostat in and I did last Sunday. I really don't know how this will help the problem since when it's running they will probably both stay open the whole time anyway.

I really want to rig up a fan with some plumbing to pull in the outside air to blow on the exhaust( like Saphire scientific does for there belts).

I really feel that when the warm weather comes there will not be much worry about the solution temperature. Its 150-160 now which is hotter than would ever come out of the tap, and thats when its well below freezing outside. In hotter, more humid weather, there were times last summer I was getting concerned about the unit running too hot. Maybe it will just balance out.
