    Freedom XT problem

Have a Freedom XT that temp problems. At first I thought it was the thermal relief valves because my waste tank was filling too quickly. The valves on it right now are only 400 hrs old (machine has 1400 hrs). I also noticed that the water temp was at times running at 250 - 270, I clean at 210-230. I checked the exhaust dema valve (exhaust diverter valve) and it does not move when I change the temp setting on the thermostat. I cleaned the exhaust dema and it still does not move on it's own. It is easiy to move by hand so I don't think that it is locking up or binding. My question is how do I determine if the problem is the thermostat (temp) control, the solenoid, bad dema valve,or something else? I don't want to throw parts at it, you all know how expensive that is and I hope I don't need a new exhaust dema. Powerclean says the part is $500.

You will need a multimeter to determine if the thermostat control is sending voltage to the diverter valve switch. To be quite honest I have no idea about the componants or the wiring on this unit. I have asked people several times to help me obtain the proper information on these units and have not received anything so far. And probably never will. So I cannot help you. If I had a wiring diagram etc. I would most certainly be able to guide you through this in a way you would be able to understand. But this cannot be accomplished by me at this point because I do not have the proper information. I can only give you general knowledge. Sorry Greg. Maybe someone else can help.

    Re: Freedom XT problem

Did u fix your heat problem Greg? Well, What was it?

Ck your dema jet in your waste tank it could be clogged raising temps. unclog it and reinstall.
Are you letting the wand sit while you move funiture and prespay etc? all the while the TM is running high rpms.
Idle your TM if your moving stuff and prespray/scrubbing a few rooms. You'll also save on gas.

Dema solenoid could be bad. Turn key on.. set thermo to lowest position as you do this you should hear
the solenoid click. If not you already cleaned it so ck the wires.
