P.S where do I find the voltage regulator on the TM? Does the Genesis 59 even have one?

Until you get it fixed it would be a little more economical to run a cord and hook up a battery charger up to it instead of running the truck all the time to keep it charged. What I have been forced to do for the past year since this issue started is run a postive and neg cable from the battery of the tm through the floor of my truck, underneath the truck itself and then back up to battery of E350. This way I can keep truck running and it will power the battery at tm and keep it powered. This is the only thing I can do without having battery go dead and stay dead.

that is a great idea Kevin but where would I hook up the battery charger to when we are running the tm? I would either have to run a electrical line to my clients home or one heck of a inverter plugged into the truck outlet and have truck running at the same time. Is there something that I am missing b/c I am very mechanically deinclined.

You might find the regulator by following the wires in the back of the alternator to a electrical connector to a box or what looks. Like a ballast. I'm very sure it is internal. What I have done is installed a Back up power line that is electronic magnetically. Switch operated (relay/solenoid) instead of using a mechanical linkage or having to physically connect it. You can convert over to a 1wire alternator set up its done in muscle / vintage /classic cars I did that to our 69 Nova. Or you can also replace the internal regulator with an external set up. I'd use a Chevy or Ford although & regulator which is popular at a parts house. Use a 69-72 Chevy. Application to get the although and reg. If your not savy in electricity. Take it to a good auto tech or classic car restorer

Sorry I'm about to eat dinner. I will give more advice layer this evening

The regulator is Built inside
take the battery out aand take it to an auto parts and have then do a load and charge test chances are the battery needs to be replace since its been deep cycle it will not hold 100% charge after 3 times of cycling meaning it has run dead.
buy a new battery install if the alternator is not charging it will run good for 2 -3 days at most and it will go low againg
find a alternator repair shop have then rebuilt the unit make sur they know is not your regular alternator the type your unit uses is industrial same type the forklifts have
before you do this run the machine and very carefull touch the wires coming from the alternator if they feel to hot you may have a short circuit if not just get the alternator rebuilt .

This current alternator that is running on the tm doesn't have any numbers associated with it or anything identifying it to Mitsubishi or Hitachi and has already been rebuilt once (about eight months ago). I have ordered a OEM compatible 2300-U0114 model but does anyone know if this is the correct one? Powerclean can't seem to figure it out and Zenith is having a hard time trying to figure out which alternator was sent with this particular engine to Powerclean.
Can anyone help me with some numbers off thier alternator on the Genesis 59 so I can figure out which alternator I need if I don't have the correct one now? Thanks and have a great day!

Just run a electric cord to the customers outlet to plug in the charger till you get it fixed.that is a great idea Kevin but where would I hook up the battery charger to when we are running the tm? I would either have to run a electrical line to my clients home or one heck of a inverter plugged into the truck outlet and have truck running at the same time. I did it for two years because I did not want to pull my engine to change the stator behind the flywheel.

This whole **** charging system is really starting to piss me off. I did order a OEM replacement alternator (the Mitsubishi) for $70 from a firm in MN that gets them from China. It is a far cry from the $600 for a new one built in Japan. Today the old alternator started putting out 18+volts and ruined the batter in the tm. My guys took the battery to Walmart (they put a new one in) then they replaced bad alternator with new one. This one puts out 12.4 to 12.8 volts.
My question is why would all of a sudden the old alternator put out 18+volts?
Is this Chinese knockoff alternator going to do more damage then good?

As long as your voltage regulator is working properly it will not harm the charging system. One of the functions of the voltage regulator is to prevent the battery from overcharging. Some are internal and some external. Normal operating voltage is 12.6 -14.6

battery and alternator need to be check I think your alternator might be bad my guess, but Have those check.

Anthony it is going to be ok.
most items are made in China

Now I am just getting plain pissed. I bought a OEM replacement alternator for the original that came with my Genesis as my orginal has had issues of putting out enought voltage then not enough then two days ago it decided to put out 18.4 volts and ruin a brand new battery Walmart just put in.
Since I bought a replacement I put that in and low and behold it only cracked out 12.6 volts as of two mornings ago then slowly went down to 11.87 as of yesteday afternoon. Today, after a half day of using Ford's E350's alternator to charge tm battery for a half day we switched to the tm alternator and still was only dumping out 11.92 volts. This is a brand new alternator and it only lasted 15 hours of useage.
I have on order through Zenith a 600 dollar alternator that is supposed to be the one shipped orginally to Powerclean for this application. This really sucks and I am at the end of my rope with this. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
