    I got the steamin demon!

I got the steamin demon today and I already cleaned a small office, and i was so happy with the results, perfect machine, you can see really when the carpet is clean.
After the porty shootout I knew I wanted that machine so I found it and I bought it it was used, but almost brand new and with 150 ft of hoses total, i am very happy, one more machine for my collection!

It's an all in one type machine right? Works by itself without the need of other gear? Sort of like a rotovac wand with a CFX built into it?

It is a good unit. And it is important to have a variety of tools in our cleaning arsenal. Keep us posted Jaime.

Great buy! What is the 150' of hose for? Isn't the SD all self contained?

.........now go dissect that thing and make a couple of videos!!! We are all waiting!!

The Steamin' Demon connects to electricity, a continual flow of fresh water coming in and a hose for waste water continuously being pumped out. So there are two hoses and an electric cord connected to the machine. Typically they come in 50' lengths. You can use 1 or more sections of hose and cord to go from the machine to a sink in the janitorial closest or such.

BTW - Full disclosure that may reveal my bias. I owned this machine for several years and for a short time Iw as a sales rep for SD. They did away with their sales reps shortly after I came on board. I was left out in the cold after making commitments. Thought the machine was OK but not very happy with the company management.

Re: I got the steamin demon!

The machine works exactly how Scott said it.
Now I would like lo add that the machine is a nice tool, I might compare it to the cfx from the rotovac, but i see an advantage towards steamin demon.
my steamin demon has one 3 stage vac motor same used in the 1003dx, but the difference that is motor in the steamin demon is located inches from the carpet, not even a foot, now better than that how?
Also it use tons of water. it uses the water from the sink (same as the cfx rotovac) and pump out water (same as the cfm rotovac), now the flow is higher, a lot higher.
You actually can see the dirty water pulling from the carpet, which it might help you to know when the carpet is clean.
Something I was thinking yesterday about the steamin demon than I don't like, and it is it make tons of foam, even with a pre spray that ussually won't make too much foam, and the rpm from the vacuum motor will drop and you will loose suction, and that is why they have a defoamer botton, so you can use it when you need it, which is nice, but I think the easier way to fix that is with a pre spray as the RPM from rotovac, it suppose to have defoamer in there, and when i try it with my portable, it was true, not foam at all. I am pretty sure rotovac developed that pre spray so they won't have that problem, now I think that pre spray will work perfect for steamin demon.
The machine is great for productivity on hallways, and big empty rooms, the good thing it use only one cord, and it is possible to use 2 machine in one big room.
Also you just work non stop and let's say you have one guy working with the steamin demon and another guy behind doing a post bonnet. there are many ways how to use the steamin demon.

Do you feel its necessary to post bonnet w/the Steamin Demon? I realize you post bonnet with the Eclipse as I do with the Recoil on CGC. Are you behind the 175 drying more or less .
Wonder how Erics Zipper is compared to the SD. Hopefully in the near future I will be trying the Zipper with my Recoil. If all goes as planned we will post a video.
    Peace Bro!

    Jamie,
Is the carpet drier with the Steamin Demon than with your other extractors PRIORto a post bonnet? SD advertises 124 inch water lift and 114 cfm. I post bonnet for the same reasons as you. Its just more time and less profit, but quality must come first if you want return business and referrals.
I would like something faster than the wand on the larger commercial accounts. So my interest in SD and the Zipper.
Do you encap any of your larger accounts and if so what machine do you prefer Cimex, crb etc.?
    THANKS

impossible it has the vacuum is the same as the mytee 1003dx 137 inches water lift and 100 cfm.

I don't have larger accounts, I have some yearly accounts, like 30k, but because it is once a year i need to do extraction.

Locko, now that you have had some more time to use the SD can you give us some feedback on the dry times your achieving without post bonneting? Have you had any mechanical malfunctions with this machine? Thanks

Re: I got the steamin demon!

Well I can say the steamin demon puts way too much water around 4 gpm, so recovery is not that great, i think to replace the motor will help.
i was getting more than 6 hours dry time, also it kind of tiring because you have to walk forward and backward all the time, with a wand you move the arms only.
