?Preventing your portable from rolling around an empty van?

I would really like to get some feedback on how alot of cleaners are keeping their portables from moving around in an empty van? We have always used bungee cord to strap the portable to the side of the van. The problem is I absolutely hate this method!!! I am always afraid someone is going to get their eye hit by the cord. It can be very dangerous if one is not careful. I am just very paranoid when it comes to bungee cord! Even if your careful it can slip out of your hand.

When I have to load up our M12 in my honda element, I use a strap like these:

Pull to tighten...easy to loosen. That, or a ratchet strap. These are quicker and plenty strong enough for a portable.

Re: ?Preventing your portable from rolling around an empty van?

For the Recoil I used a couple of 2x4's with "L" brackets and made a box so it couldn't roll around. With the M12, I just use a tie down and tie it to the side of the van...this way is a lot easier IMO.

    E,

Have you seen any tanks that have 2" and garden hose attachments?

Trying to come up with the best way to clear the M12 while keeping it in the van as much as possible.

Motorcycle tie down. Also use an turnbuckle (Recoil has not left trailer since purchase).Lock your wheels !

No can't think of any tanks like that. Are you looking for both fresh and waste tanks?

ratcheting straps. Tie downs are cheap, easy to use, and did I mention cheap?

I still use a bungee with little effort and no problem. I think because it is the perfect size cord.

    Ara,
Try your local Honda or Yamaha dealership who sells dirt bikes. I use an pair made by "Ancra" that I purchased in 1970 !! Have used them for dirt bikes to canoes and now for Recoil.
