Care for porty pump? Vinegar run thru the pump keep build up from happening?

Twice or more a month, flush a white vinegar solution
(One quart vinegar to two gallons of water)
through the extractor, turning pump switch on/off
several times, flush with clean water. This will
prevent build-up of alkaline residue in the system.
Occasionally check filter screen at the bottom of
the solution tank and rinse clean with hot water if
necessary.
Clean all dirt and obstructions from drain valve
and gaskets to prevent possible leakage
After each job Vacuum out the solution tank.
Rinse the waste tank after job.
End of day dump cup vinegar in the waste tank keeps clean and odor free..
For extractors with
PRESSURE REGULATOR
For best results with the pressure regulator, I recommend that you clean and lubricate
the piston and u-cup with Superlube lubricant monthly or when pressure drop seems excessive.
1. Turn unit off before lubricating.
2. Remove cap, spring and spring retainer plate.
3. With fingertips remove piston and u-cup.
4. Wipe piston and u-cup clean of any film or scale.
5. Lubricate the piston and u-cup with Superlube.
6. Reassemble regulator.

Excellent thread! I beilieve someone said "take care of your equipment and it will take care of you". One thing I think is worth considering is at the end of the day to remove your waste tank lid and let your vacuum motors run for about 5 minutes. This will dry them out and should help them to last longer. I have seen some vacuum motors have an early death because the fins get all corroded and rusted.

One I did forget to say,
Defoamer add each time in your waste tank.. Foam is one of the biggest vac motor killers... As Jan has said run them motors after each clean moisture and foam kills them fast!

Here's my tip:
Bleach is a great disinfectant and to keep your machine smelling good after your last job of the day simply put 2 ounces of bleach in your solution tank and fill with fresh water. Use your vacuum hose to suck it out into the waste tank and if you have APO pump it out.
This simple step:
1. Kills bacteria
2. Keeps your solution tank and waste tank fresh!
3. Cleans your APO and its hose.
4. Cleans your vac hose(s)

Great thread, thanks.

Might I suggest "peroxide" bleach instead of chlorine? Here's my tip:
