SHOULD I BUY A GENERATER FOR MY VAN?

heres the thing guys, most jobs i can reach and do a good job from my van. problem is ,its more work to do that, i gota run an extra 100 feet extention cords, which sucks!! plus some houses have bad outlets that blow out some times which is a pain in the butt, because its sometimes the outlet that the custy is watching tv , you all know that game..it pisses them off!! any way do you think it is worth getting a generater put in the truck so i dont have to deal with all the extra stress? and if so does any body know any good brands and voltage ill need??? thanks

Re: SHOULD I BUY A GENERATER FOR MY VAN?

I never had a problem running cords for my porty. As for the generator I think 5500 watts should minimum and get "as much as you can afford at the time". I would get something around 8k+ if I bought another one.

I am with EEE; 8kw Generator minimum. 17kw would be ideal; you could run an entire cleaning opration and power a house with electric for apartment cleaners.

    Why buy a generator?

    Most houses have electric.

Just get reels for your cords.

They just unfurl as you walk, crank or spring to retract. Easy!!

As far as blowing fuses just make sure the one with the pump and the vac is plugged into the kitchen or utility and you'll have no problems.

Re: SHOULD I BUY A GENERATER FOR MY VAN?

I agree with Dave except on my Recoil the pump and vac actually draws less amperage than the vac and boost. You need to determine what your amperage is from each cord. The Recoil will need 2 15 amp circuits where other extractors may require 20 amps/circuit. I still occasionally will "pop ,sometimes no fault of mine (client brews coffee, electric radiant heater etc.) or I or one of my techs use same circuit for vacuum ,175 or ?. With careful planning you shouldn't pop breakers( look to see where the utility lines enter the house ,located nearby will be the breaker box, be an step ahead of the client if it pops!) .
I carry an Yamaha 2400 watt (58 decibels-70 lbs) good for 1 circuit or inline booster and auto pump out. Which I had for the a/c on my travel trailer .Its running close to max amps ,believe 3000 watt would be better. It has been handy on occasions (coffee-radiant heater) and I had it anyways.

Rickie is right on the money, we have a 7500 watt in our truck and sometimes we use could use a little more power.
