Portable User's

What tips do you have to keep your portable running and to last longer?

Do you run white vinegar thru your pump ? Do clean your waste tanks after each job?
Do you use defoamer? What are you using in the solution tank? Any tips you have to help others?

hey frank you should use girls stockens for a filter, works great, u dont lose any suction and keeps tanks from geting nasty,plus when your done u can just trash them..makes my job alittle easyer.

Nice tip on the panty hose! I just clean the crap out of my portable whenever I get a chance. Have never ran vinegar thru it though.

Good idea Gino .. You could also purchase small filter bags from Namco : http://www.namcomfg.com/namco3/shop/item.asp?itemid=335
... E white vinegar will help keep your pump and lines clear of build up.Run a cup thru few times each month..
Jason is right with defoamer.... Add to the waste tank saves your vacuum motors,, Foam is one of the biggest vacuum motor killer's..

yeah i will use the vinegar like u said...having a bad night with all this rain it flooded my basement..but one good thing about cleaning carpets is that when my basement floods i have a great porty to get the water out
