Your Talking about an over engineered under powered takes 4 people to cary out a vehicle Mexico Products is what it should be named machine

The Recoil is a simple, well refined, Simple to repair, easily replaceable parts, non-proprietary in design, Aero dynamically engineered 300 plus CFM carpet cleaning monster. It will suck the Mexico Products Elephant under the rug!!

Well now that that is off my chest; if you want high power porty Mexico Products doesn't even come to bat!!

    Randy,
Received your E-mail. Suggest you use search engine in this forum keyword-jimsteam or Recoil xps. You will find my pics and many others of the Recoil XPS setups. Also visit http://www.members3.boardhost.com/johnmmerritt/ for more info and pics also using their search engine. You can also click on anyone's name in this forum to look at their profile which contains all their threads.
I have since moved my propane tank to the tongue of my trailer and run 1/2 black pipe to Little Giant heater.
As far as an trailer i've had good and bad days backing it up,but its light enough to move by hand into place and it was within my budget and is brand new compared to an used van which may or may not need mechanical and bodywork.
Ricky said it all . BUY AMERICAN!!!

Both companies are good IMO, if you are gonna use it as a porty unloading it etc......the US might be a better fit. If you want to run it from the van and use propane heat, the recoil will be better. I have read and heard good things about the heating system on the US, no doubt the Recoil will have more vac, be lighter, and better customer service down the line.

In the end, its all in what you wanna do with the machine. Good Luck

I will say, portable is a portable, if i want to run it from the van i will have a tm.
    people use a generator.
i can have a machine with 6 motors 18 stages total, but i need to have it in the van, then you need a generator and then you need a propane heater. so it is not a portable. Will i beat the power to the recoil , eclipse 1003dx?, of course , but then again what is the purpose of having a portable.
portable is for short hose runs with good power, heat, light weight etc etc
I don't doubt the recoil is one of the most power portables, but it doesn't have heat.
But Rickie you are out of your mind, you said this "Aero dynamically engineered 300 plus CFM carpet cleaning monster".
But I know this so far with the recoil and that is the vacuums motors are conected to the recovery tank with a long hose that comes from out and side of the machine. and really i don't think it is a aero dynamically engineered with a simple hose.
the us product also use good quality product.
Recoil i think use ametek vac motors, and the motors from ametek are also made in mexico, so that means the recoil is not 100% made in USA.
and I want to everybody think I AM NOT AGAINST CROSS AMERICAN or any other company , maybe CLEANCRAFT, MAYBE BECAUSE THE SAY IT HAS 340 of lift and that was not true. i am pretty sure the recoil has power that you can run 150 ft of hose, but nobody can tell me it will feel stronger than the mytee 1003dx or the solus 500 with 25 ft of hose.
solus 500 is the only portable with the motors mounted on top of the recovery tank, so THERE IS NOT PLUMBING, now the questions is: PLUMBING THE VAC MOTORS IS BETTER THAN MOUNTING THE VAC MOTOR DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE RECOVERY TANK WITH NO PLUMBING AT ALL? I DON'T THINK SO.
So if I want a portables, with good heat, easy to carry and really good quality parts, and the enough money, i will go with us producs, and it has a good warranty 2 years, and lifetime with the heater YEAH LIFETIME.

BTW, I DON'T SELL ANY MACHINE, I DON;T HAVE A SOLUS 500, I TRIED A COUPLE TIMES, I DON;T GET ANY MONEY OR DISCOUNT SO IN A FEW WORDS I AM NOT AFFILIATED TO US PRODUTS AT ALL. i OWN A ECLIPSE, MYTEE 1003, AND THE TRUCKFORCE.

all stated above is my opinion and not a fact. anybody can think whatever they want.

Rickie you seem very digruntled twoards US Products, Why? I own a US Products Cobra H-2 & Evolution wand and love it. I dont understand where you get the idea that they are made in Mexico. I have never used a Recoil XPS but have heard only good things. I have not one bad thing to say twoards Recoil. As for US Products I am happy with the lifetime waranty on the tanks and heating element. Well as far as what porty is better question, I guess that just depends on the user.

Back to the originial question,. What are your thoughts on the Recoil XPS. I bought my last Fall 2009. I bought the package deal that Jan Sullin sells on his web site. I have and used a porty made by CFR Pro Station 400. It did a good job of cleaning, but no heater and it recycled the cleaning solution which caused oder problems.
The Recoil XPS does not have a heater on it , but the Little Giant heater is great to have. I have not taken the Recoil out of my van since I got it. 100 foot run of hose is normal for me, something I was told I could not do with other portys. I did a 150 foot run once and did not see much difference in vacuum. I'm still working on installing the 2 40 gallon tanks that I got in the package.
If you are looking for power and covenence of leaving the machine in your van than I recommend the Recoil XPS. I'm now bidding on a bank building that is 40k sq. ft. and 4 stories high. I know I can take the Recoil out of my van to do the job. I know that I won't be able to take the heater in the building, but I will have the power of the Recoil to clean the carpet.

    In defense of Rickie F.
This is taken from the pages of ICS magazine

    JUNE 23,2009
A northern Idaho cleaning equipment supplier is ELIMINATING 40 AMERICAN local jobs as it moves production to Mexico over the next six to eight months to save money.
Nilfisk-Advamce Inc., the Minnesota -based maker of products is keeping 22 administrative positions at its U.S. Products site in Coeur d'Alene.

Basically stating 40 manufacturing jobs are being shifted to Queretaro,Mexico, over the next several months.

Just a small but perhaps, very important (??) clarification----only because you seemed to point this out as signifigant -------The above statement is not exactly or totally true, and therefore, may convey the wrong message or impression.

The very best & thanks to all above.

Well Jim great defense. I was unaware of that and based on those facts I am convinced that US Prod made a bad move. Although I would still not consider buying a Recoil because "No internal heater" If I had to run a little giant to get heat. I might as well go all the way and buy a TM. By the way is Mytee assembled in Mexico as well or possibly China?

    Jose,
Getting back to subject RECOIL vs US PRODUCTS. When doing research for which Carpet cleaning rig to invest in . Us Products and Recoil were also my 2 choices. Obviously Randy also did his homework and is willing to go the extra mile ($$$$)for an quality built machine.
I chose the Recoil over the Solus not only because its assembled in Michigan but I can also run 125 ft plus of line to be used as an Electric TM.I can also bring unit inside and use an external heater if necessary.I have the best of both worlds.for under 8 grand including trailer ,insurance fees etc. No way in hell can you get an BRAND NEW TM / VAN under 20 k plus.
I do like the idea of the motors being mounted on the top of the solus and the "warranty".
As far as where is Mytee assembled , Don't know-Don't care.
By the way I do like your website!!!
