It is interesting how the porty threads seems to compare the Recoil to whatever? The Recoil always stands it ground.

Thats great, I am happy for all the proud recoil users out there. You have a great tool to suceed in this biz. Bottom line is that I will still use my US Product Cobra H-2 until I have saved enough $$$$ Est. $10K to pay cash a good TM that does not envolve propane. Well with that said I leave this thread in , Shalom my brothers.

I'm with you Joseph! Use whatever you have, and everyone should be happy with whatever porty they use! All porty's will make you money.

IMO, I think some of the best TM's out there use propane for heat!

I love the idea from cross american and Ed Valentine did with the recoil you can add, auto pump out, auto fill, tanks, mufflers etc, i am pretty sure the machine is powerfull, and might be even more powerful with the motors directly mounted to the tank and no plumbing involved.
I am pretty sure the recoil has his place. but what happen if you want to clean the carpets from an apartment located in the 8, 10 or 12 floors (that happens to me all the time), then you need 2 circiuts for the recoil, and another for the heater, and a regular water even with an inline heater won;t heat the water too much.
Now if i clean the carpet with a solus, i dont have to worry if i get cold water, the solus can pre heat the water up to 125, how can you do that with the recoil? and then you extract using the heater again, the water is hotter. but let's say you have only one circuit braker, you a bypass switch that allows you to use less power and you can spray and extract with only one circuit braker.
Now question: the recoil has a circuit locator? i am asking this because i think it doesn't have it.
No only that i think it is possible to upgrade the motors from the solus, the solus work with 2 15 amps, and it can be stronger with 2 20 amps.

    Jamie,
I do agree that an self/contained unit is more user/ friendly when its necessary to remove the unit from the hauler. As far as heat goes many portables users still only use HOT TAP water and do an admirable job. Presentation-Quality no matter what your system is will get you back in the front door.My final answer.

Have you thought of a Mytee m-5 plus a steambrite top mounted booster? That gives you 300+ cfm, 500psi, auto fill and auto dump, for 3000?

I have had my recoil XPS for almost a year now. Sense I bought it I added a little giant heater and a CA booster. Before I had the booster I always ran 100ft and even 150ft. I never had a problem at 150 ft. Now I have the booster and run it at the machine in the trailer.

Well I went out and demoed the KC Pro 1200 psi model. It is a great idea and really cool with the auto dump and fill, I was just not impressed with the vacuum. I looked under the hood and there was a single 3 stage under there. Just not impressed imo

I would take a look at the Mytee M5 or the Masterforce.

After my own personal research and investigation. As a current US Products owner, I am not afraid to say Cross American has the best portables on the market. The price point is good and I wish I would have bought one two years ago. Nevertheless my H-2 has been reliable and provided excellent heat. Although my next investment will be in a truck-mount. I do encourage any potential buyers in the porty aspect to really consider the recoil xps. There is no negative complaints to be found on these machines.
