ha Richard that is truly genius! Awesome idea.

Thats clever Richard, what is the average temp inside the pool with this setup? I got the same pool and don't get in it much because its not warm enough for me, so I just installed a 2 person jacuzzi whirlpool tub in my bathroom.

I havent got a chance to measure anything out yet, I just finished putting it together today and I leave tomorrow for a holiday, so I can monitor it starting next week, hopefully decent weather. What inspired me was the swim I took 2 days ago in 68 degree water.

I've discovered 2 problems with this setup in the fall. First, the barrel has to be manned all afternoon with a constant supply of wood, this is not possible because fall is our busiest season, IM lucky if I can even see the barrel before 7pm.
Second, in the fall, up here in Canada, the days are still warm and sunny, but at night it gets rather chilly, thus removing all your hard earned heat you spent the entire day putting in the pool.
Because of this, I guess the pool is coming down till next May, and next summer Im sure this system will help greatly with pool heat, provided I get enough free time to man the barrel!

You are an original!

Richard you gave me an idea. I fired up my heater pool a few weeks ago (propane heat) but quickly discovered that it takes about a day and a half of high heat for the water to become comfortable enough to swim...32000 gallon pool.
Fast forward, the propane bill just shoots up....so I shut it down. But for the spring ans into the summer, your idea would be great experiment with. Thanks

So when do you expect to start mass producing TM fired heat?![]()
