I would love to see some serious online training of different subjects. This would be related to a 'Free' introduction and partial training to be sure ones would like to have the training but then the actual later portion of the training would be a paid fee.

I think many would like to 'see' clearly a hands on approach on 'How To' or "What to Do" or even to simply understand.

This would work great for the board, the board could charge serious distributors / trainers and so on for the promotion and the students could pay some reasonable fee for the training.

It could even be set up with different trainers to offer paid rooms for those that would like ongoing training. Most of the training that goes on is great but there is so much more advanced training that could be done but isn't.

For example, I find many would like to learn more about carpet repair, even tile and grout repair, especially advanced repairs that can really help a cleaner to open the door to clients they would never get a chance to speak with. Many in our industry would like to know how to do simple repairs to complex. A room could have it set up to web cam the 'Repair of the Month' and show detail hands on how to do so, all of this 'live' so questions can also be asked. There could even be a contest of the best request for repair and let the one that gets picked enter for free. The same could be done to show how to remove one cracked tile and how to replace it. This could be done with even more advanced items in many portions of the industry.

Along with this the Board could set up different areas of the country with these types of advanced classes and offer them to this group only. Things such as: Advance Upholstery / Drapery Cleaning; Advanced Carpet Repairs; Pure Water Window Cleaning; Also how to use these to open doors to clients that one would never ever be able to get into otherwise.

Homes like these are all opened up due to these advanced items:

Once one gets into these homes, they have carpets and uphol. and tile and grout to clean.

My thoughts are: Make the board the premiere location for training, not just a conversation location, although that is great also. Elevate it to something of real value to those that really want to learn something.

    Just my two cents worth.

    SAA

Add a video section. That would be the easiest way to accomplish the tutorials and the webinars. It would be the youtube of the cleaning industry. People could upload there own videos. I'm sure the bandwidth for a site like that is crazy though huh?

Tech. how to video's such as Ink spot removal, red stain removal, odor removal, and so on also could go into how to maintain your equipment. Even though we all are taught through class some find it helpful to actually watch how its done to boost confidence in actually completing the task successfully.

    John,

Would this be one example of things to learn? Watch the clip; then would you like to have each repair outlined and detailed in video so that you could watch it over until you could follow each step and be able to repair: Pulled Rows in Berber? Fractured Seams? Delamination areas? And others as showm?

This is the type of idea I was talking about. Possibly a private room of some sort to have this available, or access to web site for this. An offering by TMF for its members of this and then a 'Live Class' to take it further, for TMF Members would make this a great learning location.

Other training could be done in the same way, such as 'Advanced Repairs' ; Advance Upholstery Cleaning; Advanced Drapery Cleaning. Even Color Repair; wood repair and refinishing; Tile and Grout Repair and so on.

This is my basic idea for help for those that may not have any idea of some of the 'Advanced' type of add on items available.
Also, some may know a little or much about these but not sure how to fine tune them.

What sections in our video network do you guys think that should be free and which ones should be paid?

We already have the ability to have you guys upload YOUR own videos in certain areas, but I would like to get your feedback on this.

Our video network is setup like Youtube and we have some of the top industry leaders behind this. We look to have it perfected sooner than you think

I think it would be cool to have an indicator on the thread or post that shows if in each post if the person is online at the moment so you could instant msg them to ask a question or comment. And mybe set up an official instant msg carrier so that all of us have the same carrier. does that make sense? #2 sometimes I forget where Ive posted so mybe a reminder sent to our mail box mybe we already have this?

Tim if you look beside your name in the post you will see a small box. If it is green then that person is online.

Also if you click on your name a drop down box will open and will give you 4 prompts, one is Find all posts

Tutorial videos would be a great idea. I know myself, there are alot of things that I havent seen, or used, or tested. And video does speak volumes.

This could include different chemicals, techniques, treatments, equiptment, tricks, and on and on...

I personally have read alot of different ideas that people have been using for a long time, that honestly, I would have never thought of. So it would be good to see them in action.

To get users "into" it and to structure a big database, perhaps maybe some sort of contest like you already do (and thanks btw). Perhaps a free "such and such" monthly for the best and/or most intriguing video submitted for that month. Or something of that nature.

Remember, it's all of us that participate on these boards that make them what they are. I personally dont mind taking some time and recording something that I find interesting for you all to see. Or even showing some newcomers how I do things so that they can see and perhaps make them a better cleaner. Or for that matter, perhaps someone may see where I was making a mistake and help me out.

    So that's an idea.
