I just read this on CM magazine online.

THE BOTS ARE TAKING OVER!

An unnamed autonomous cleaning robot developed by Fuji Heavy Industries and Sumitomo recently got employed as the floor cleaner at the latter's building in Osaka City, Japan. Looking so uncannily like a moving trash bin, the unnamed robot is operated by Reibi, the same company that handles cleaning in the Sumitomo building. It was based from a previous design but was improved in a number of ways.

This robot is equipped with laser sensors to detect obstacles and avoid them while moving. Additionally, it's equipped with a light transmission device that's also built into the elevators so the robot is free to communicate with the elevators on its own, instruction them to open or shut their doors and telling them what floor it wants to go to. And just for good measure, cameras could be built onto the robot so what it does can be recorded and perhaps to serve as a roving security cam as well.
