The more encouragement we can all give Jason and Frank, the easier it will be for them to continue with this battle.
So please keep posting your support for these guys.

ok this is a sad story meant to encourage. my son's friend's mother has smoked most of her life. she has recently been diagnosed with cancer. she just had surgery (about 2 weeks ago), they removed her voice box and is being fed through a tube for now. i think she will have an electronic box gismo to speak for the rest of her life if she lives. her son is only 14 and she may not be around much longer for him. she finally quit smoking though.

Do not Over Dose on the Patch and Gum.
Start to walk in the morning or when ever, try 100 jogging steps, repeat. I have 50 years breathing the air.
The first few days are easy ( JK) but it get harder a week, month later.
Maybe I can add my name to this list of Quitters.

I don't think you'll overdose. If you feel a nic fit with the patch that means your body is getting less nicotine than it's used to. So chewing some gum too would help ease that craving even more.

Kevin I understand how you feel. I watched my father go from 220lbs to 99lbs before dying from lung cancer at 59. He smoked 2 packs a day. Here is the saddest part. As we were burying him Tre was being born. He missed his first grandson because of smoking. Tre never got to meet him.ok this is a sad story meant to encourage. my son's friend's mother has smoked most of her life. she has recently been diagnosed with cancer. she just had surgery (about 2 weeks ago), they removed her voice box and is being fed through a tube for now. i think she will have an electronic box gismo to speak for the rest of her life if she lives. her son is only 14 and she may not be around much longer for him. she finally quit smoking though.

Sorry to hear that Rob.. That is too young to loose a father... That is sad too Kervin... Sometimes I think we all feel it can't happen to us. But it could and will... For last fews years I kelp stopping smoking and starting.. Weak will power .. Excuses of stress....Kevin I understand how you feel. My 2nd week of not stopping and to read what you guys just wrote makes me more stronger to not go back...
Thank you

Day 4 is gone Jason, soon you will be counting in weeks just like Frank, keep it going buddy.

How is it going, Jason? You know, many years ago I worked with a man in our volunteer pastoral work who had gone through three tours in Vietnam and was addicted to every vice known to man, including heroin. But due to his desire to put on a "new personality" he had to kick all of them. He told me that tobacco was an even harder addiction for him to kick than heroin. BUT he did it and you can too!

PS I don't know if the above was "encouraging" or not!

Still not "smoking"... My dam* jaw hurts from chewing this nicotine gum for the last 5 days!
I have had a few drags off of the wife's cigarette and we got in a heated debate yesterday and I grabbed one, lit it, took 3 big drags and snuffed it out. I have a "ton" of stress in life right now but I'm holding strong.
There are a lot of changes going on in my life presently. I am really getting fired up about the business. I am reading a book called "The Aladdin Factor" and its great. It's basically a self help book on "asking" for what you want. I am planing on taking Steve T.'s "How to sell commercial work" free report and try to implement his system by knocking on doors like I did 10 years ago. I'm ready for the next level in my life!

Jason.
I am happy for you!, if you can quit smoking, you can do everything you want, it is about planning, decision and action.
After quiting you will get to another level on your life, that is for sure.

Hang in there Jason... Its is hard with others smoking around you I know.. I try to leave the room so I am not tempted ..
So far I have not smoked.. 3rd week for me...

Well doe Jason, I too stoped 12 years ago, was one of the best things I have ever done, God bless you I will also say a pray for you and your family.
Have a good week
Just do not light a smoke up

The wife quit yesterday so it should be a little easier with her not smoking around me.... Its getting better everyday! Day 6 today!

Good for you Digi! You can also look at it like this, your just done, no counting days. That was then and this is now. It's going to be a total lifestyle change not a day count.
"We get the DIRT others leave behind"

They say you have "Made It" when you stop counting.

Think I will feel I made it after a year... Too easy to start again after week .month or few months.. Still not smoking and I keeping saying to myself I made it this far keeping going...

Had 1 smoke and a few beers with a close friend yesterday that is in the beginning stages of divorce... Still not planing on purchasing any of my own!

Oh no Bud... Beer is hard to have without a smoke... Be strong! 1 will lead to 2 3 4 and so on...Don't let that be a set back...

Jason we all have set backs. And family problems can surly cause them at times. One thing I have noticed about you as a business person is when you suffer a set back that you pick up and go right back at it. So this is not a failure, just a road block that you have to bust through to reach your goal. There may be many road blocks on the road to success but I am confident that if you stick with it you will eventually get it done.

Jason we are watching you here too!!!!!!!!! NO SMOKING! Matt south I am North we see you!
