throw away any diffuser type scent makers
seal walls with zinser, re-paint with water base paint. you never know what went on in your home prior to you occupying it
seal all wall outlets with weather proof foam tape
#3 most overlooked vapor barrier your attic, attic doors. tape if possible. The attic can be a beacon for bats, mice, road dust, bird turds. Attics do have open vents to the outside air.
#4 overlooked because people hate crawlspaces and scorpians but check all registers and vent tubes are sealed from the outside air. Ducting is commonly placed in areas that can readily grow mold mildew or build up dust.
