Dont upgrade until the jailbreaker is out if ur phone is jailbroken or unlocked u will loose everything

Soon, they are trying real hard to get another contract, but I don't think apple is gonna sign

If you can get a iphone with 3.1.2 sofyware u can unlock to use it with tmobile

that just aint cool .... it just isnt ... gotta allow or you cant get the new apps (am not an iphone owner yet so i dont know MUCH of which i speak)

You do realize cell phones can be tracked already. Apple just made it public.

Now as far as the app's and it's makers are concerned, some of the app's you kind of need them to use your location, or else they won't work. It's not a privacy issue, it's a "this app will not work if we don't know where you are" issue. Besides, are people that paranoid about someone coming after you? The cell phone company already has your address, so they know where you live and if you are in public, well guess what, your privacy is void anyway.

This is the first time apple has offered a phone that you can purchase without a contract. Now for those of you still under contract and want to upgrade, you can use the sim card from your current iphone and put it in the new one. The new processor on the iphone4 is amazing. I like the added graphics. Is it worth the 800 clams...hmmm I don't think so but maybe others do.

Also another note, the ipads also have to be registered to you as well, that is how someone found email addresses to some of our elected officials...aaawww to bad. For those of you not using an Ipad, i would ask why not? I think they are the greatest device for scheduling. Now use them with exchange and everyone can see a master schedule as it is updated. We have been using them for several months and I can not live without it.

There is difference being able to be tracked and being tracked (court order). Its not that this app wont work without your location its we are tracking you or you cannot get anymore apps at all.

All or nothing propositions like that make me wary. I have no real option to opt out .... and still use the phone. Consumer friendly ... i dont see how its necessary ... and really dont see how it would ever be good for me.

I can think of many reasons where i dont want to have my location known without my say so .... being seen in public by the ppl i know is a risk if i didnt want anybody to know (million versus the several hundred ppl i know) ... knowing for sure i was at the strip club

... or info given to a divorce attorney ... or police randomly interviewing ppl that had their phones in the area ... apple says its anonymous but then we only have them to believe. Friggin annoying commercials forced upon me because apple is getting some bucks to do it .... and im in the area ... lots o reasons.

If i wanted an app to work that needed location why couldnt i just turn it on .. or leave it on ... as my choice ... why does it have to be forced on me ... why?

Still waiting man until its 110% jailbroken then ill update. Whatsup with that free bumper for iphone 4's eh, pretty lame imo.

you can turn off the location option. the gps track for an app lets it show you what is close, thats all. relax people its the best toy ever.... well one other we can't talk about. be right there honey....got to go.
