I feel if I go and advertize green I need to make my truck mount green.
Other then to put a desiel motor in and run Bio desiel. Is thier a way to make a gas motor green!. I was thinking propane or ethinal e85 but thier are no e85 dealers near me

We have a Diesel truck now & our logic for it being greener not green by no means is we can complete the jobs in a much more efficient way with single or double wand with the bigger equipment. The reason I also believe it is greener than our previous equipment even in single wand use is we still complete jobs faster than before with the small gas engine.

Even our environmental clients agree we get done faster now so they see a greener approach with the equipment.

Another reason is we can now use green products on even the nastiest jobs so far because the Diesel powered system has so much more power. We tried the green products with little success before with our small gas machine.

I do wish we could run the Diesel on green fuels but so far we can't maybe the next truck will run with green fuels. I have called the manufacturer about this & gotten a definitive answer that the green fuels could cause damage to truck not covered under the warranty to the fuel system components.

please do not fall for this FAD!!! Yer gonna regret it in a few years, yer gonna have to change yer logos, advertisements, etc.... you're gonna look like a tool to you're regular custys ... It's not worth it...let the custy know that you use VOC compliant chemicals that are bio degrdeable, etc... not hypoalergenicnonsense if the dog's gonna lick his feet ..he'll stop because it tastes bad!!! Bill once again you are wrong in your way of looking at it. For arguments sake lets say you are correct & Green is a Fad although I hope it isn't since we only have one Earth. It doesn't matter because most marketing Pros & businesses know a company has to freshen its image & marketing concepts every so many years. So with this knowledge any company going greener only for the marketing/money will have no problem changing direction when the time comes. With that said I do not endorse someone going green just for marketing/money. I believe the reason it is working for us is we really believe in it as I said before we was going greener before it was a popular choice in this industry.

Also there is no arguing with the fact my wifes allergy are much better since we really became serious about going greener. We also have many clients now that say very positive things about their own allergies & their grand kids etc. We have a client with oriental rugs she had been having cleaned by a traditional company. She has a grand daughter with severe allergies to many things. Every time her grand daughter played on the rugs she had a reaction. The client had almost decided to get rid of the rugs thinking the little girl was allergic to them until she found us. She then decided to try to clean with us long story short the little girl no longer as any major issues with the rugs carpet etc. We have also now been to the parents of the little girls house & cleaned for them & it has helped there also. So is Green/Hypoallergenic a Fad maybe but this client doesn't care she is just happy her grand daughter no longer has reactions in her house.

Also my wife has the ability to keep cleaning for a while longer since her chemical sensitivity which we have narrowed down to products with high concentrations of d-limonene seems to be much better.

Also we don't tell our clients we are all green we just tell them we are trying to do as much to be green as possible.

    Hi Billy....

I read what your saying, but maybe people feel sick or have allergies because they are being told that by a doctor, maybe they haven't had their air ducts cleaned, may be they don't dust their home properly, there are so many things that come into play with breathing or allergy issues. I have cleaned carpets for a long time, I have seen Chem-Dry market "TruckMounted Steam cleaning soaks the carpet and creates mold & mildew", I have seen the HOST sponge method, etc.... It seems to me that you are already successful at carpet cleaning and that's great, but this forum seems to have people that are starting off and I'm throwing out my advice that going green isn't a good way to start off. The whole green clean thing for me is a scare tactic and it's gonna backfire on everyone involved. I mean the chemists/companies could have come out with this stuff a long time ago, why did it all of a sudden hit with a vengance once Algore and environmentalists started pushing the whole global warming hysteria? Most people end up seeing doctors because there is a problem in the first place. You are correct in your statements about other causes but if those are problems then it stands to reason your carpet which is the biggest filter in a home normally could be a problem. But what does this have to do with the chemical, detergents or products used. If you clean any of these areas with just any product it can cause reactions with some people in a building. As I have said before even Hypoallergenic products can cause problems & you should make the client aware of this.

Chem-Dry is a whole other story They like to use misleading advertisements to scare consumers into using them. It has caught up to them some because no one ever throws them up to us like they used to as a comparisons. We actually do get more calls from people making sure we use HWE though. They are not & never have been that I know of Dry the closest description that would have been true was low moisture. Also they can't even admit they was wrong. It is funny how now they use so called carbonated extraction which is basically a Hydra-Master Hot Water Extraction unit modified to work with their products. And lets not even get into there copying the RX-20 Also did anyone ever do the science test in school where you put a nail, coin etc in a cup of carbonated liquid for a few days? If you didn't do this try it sometime it could surprise you with the results.

I can't say much about Host accept the only use I have found for it is when I have a textile that can't even have a drop of water on it without an undesired change. Maybe someday I will look at it closer but I just can't get past the fact I believe flushing with water is the key to cleaning. Flushing with water is what we do to our clothes bodies etc.

Bill thanks for the compliment we have always thought of our company as one not afraid to do things different than the norm which gets us criticized called liars & disgrace to the industry by some & we will continue to do so even if someday we have to start over. I am not a follower at all I do what I believe in at the time & am willing to change if showed a better way. To me success is achieved when you meet your goals. Our goals keep changing so success is elusive which keeps us trying to do better.

I only wish I had access to so many different ideas when we started this company. The new guys probably don't even realize how lucky they are to have debates available to them between individuals like me & you to help them make better informed decisions.

As for manufactures going green with a vengeance just recently because of Gore & environmentalist. You are somewhat correct on some manufactures only doing it because of money. But there have been manufactures making green products for over 20 years now so I wouldn't call it a new concept.

I already explained why I don't think this is a Fad or will it be a problem if it is. Lets not forget that government is getting involved now also.

Also I have lived in TN my whole life & I remember Snow but my son has seen snow only a few times & the summers are much hotter also not to mention the melting of the polar Ice Caps etc. If Global warming isn't happening explain these changes.

We all have been abusing the planet for many years & it is catching up to us slowly we only have one EARTH this is a fact not a FAD.

Would like to meet you someday Bill I'm sure I could learn some things from you.

    Good rebutal Billy.....

Hey we found something to agree on....CHEM-DRY!! (Or are they called HOME DEPO now?) Maybe we'll meet at a convention show in the future, it would be cool to meet you. You're right on the $$$ about how it's helpful for others to read these type of debates, I think it's great for an undecided cleaner to hear pros & cons on these topics. Have a good one...
