Shane,
I certainly know all of those, I hang out in Borders too much, but haven't read any of them. They certainly have received great reviews in fortune and Business Week.
Thanks for the recommendations.

I agree, Shane, on the E-Myth being a seminal book for entrepreneurs. In fact, I often describe the SFS seminar to Michael Gerber (the author of the E-Myth) devotees as "The E-Myth brought down into the trenches for the cleaning/ restoration and BSC industry". And so it is. (I'm not the only one who feels this way either- http://www.strategiesforsuccess.com/about/testimonials )

PS Shane, I think you and Bill are more alike than you realize. You both enjoy reading those big, impenetrable books that should be sold by the pound!

and for those that really would rather watch the movie.... watch the first 30-40 minutes

never did it.... it was just a thought...you know how it is(well i guess you do) you have a slow week and you start thinking what can i do... and all kinds of ideas come to mind .. that was one of them.... still think its a good idea.. but I am goign to keep that one in the bag... and of course she has to be more than just pretty.. she has to be a go geter....
Small biz is tough... i change that biz is tough no matter how small or how big......

You are learning, John. In today's economic climate just surviving is a victory of sorts. But even better is to "succeed". I've recently put my thoughts down on how to build a truly successful cleaning and restoration firm in this Report, "Ten Essential Strategies for Success in a Tough Economy". Download it for free here: http://www.strategiesforsuccess.com/...pecial-reports
Let me know what you think.

PS Is there a Hooters in Bardstown, John? If so, you have a ready made recruiting spot for your future "sales girls"!

lol... no Hooters, small town .. wings and rings is the best we can do... ok I will read the article.. ... they are always very good... keep writing them...

#1 - If your client base is primarily female---and straight, how exactly would a sexy young lady help you? If anything, she would turn off your client base, esp. the feminists
#2 - Why not use some tried and true marketing tactics?
