Matt you are right. Unless you digg top notch content you are going to damage your credibility. I have done this myself. It is an excellent way to get near the top of search engines temporarily but if used right or if you have followers it can be very powerful. Unfortunately I did not follow through with my original plan as it takes time I do not have. Also dig is a nofollow site and will not build backlinks. However I hear that google may be changing their stance on the nofollow rule.

I don't really understand what is going on. They stole your video and edited it? Or something else?

They embedded them on their site for content that would help them get up higher in the search engines. Every time it is embedded somewhere it shows google that it is more credible and google will be more likely to include my videos in search results. They didn't steal it as I have public embedding enabled in my youtube account.

I have noticed many of the group have not been creating detailed descriptions to their videos and channels. This is very important if you want your videos to show up in search results. Search engines cant read your videos so if you want them to know what it is about you need to tell them with a detailed description. If you have a hard time writing have someone ask you some questions about your videos and answer them while you record yourself. This may sound strange but I find it easier to tell someone verbally about my service as my words are more flowing compared to writing. After you review your recording type the best of it in your video description. Hope that helps and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. You all have put forth allot of energy into this and I want to see all of you get great results.

This is what I think about when creating my accounts. Keep in mind there are several ways to promote yourself on youtube so do what you think is right and wish for the best as I do. Just be honest and you should do well.

User name
Make sure you use a users name that is relevant to what you do or where you are marketing. I chose Northwest suburbs because that is were I was planning on marketing in the Chicago area. Looking back I do wish I went in a different direction so take the time to think this out.

Description
Use your choice keyword two or three times in your description. Make sure it is has plenty of relevant details and do not over use your keywords or you will lose credibility for keyword stuffing.

My Description
Explain who you are what you do and were you do it. Again use your choice keywords 2 or 3 times and be detailed do not over stuff keywords.

Home Town and Location
You will know what to do here

Jobs/Career
Explain what you do for a living and were you do it don't forget the choice keywords again

Education
Include your complete education including training classes and include locations if it will help your keywords.

Interests

Include your interests you may include your interests to better your industry mixed in with a little personal tid bit about yourself

Books
Your choice

Music
Your Choice

Really good idea.

Couple other important things that help get Youtube vids ranking:

1. Put your keywords in the title

2. Set the local of the video as being produced in your city

3. Create links that go to your Youtube page

Do these things and you're sure to rank your videos.

And let's not forget Viddler and Blip (two other excellent video sites).

Joseph, very nice videos. very professional. if i had to nitpick the last one (of the car seat being cleaned) it would be the decal thats half worn off of the upholstery tool (lol). my suggestion, remove the rest of it and replace it with a cherryhillcarpetcleaning.com logo of your company decal. ok that was really nitpicking but it would send people right to your website. your vids are great and you obviously put a lot of effort in them and your bus. you have inspired me to do the same, however i am not nearly as advanced as you in the computer/video/youtube/website part of the business. can you just make some generic vids ( no cherry hill carpet cleaning logos) of different cleaning styles, before and after shots, stain removals, different services that we can all buy from you and add our logos and flash our vans with us standing next to them? i am in california and no competition to you. it would be a lot easier for me. i just don't have the time or knowledge to put into it.
